Health Care Debate - Somerset, KY
Discuss the national Health Care debate in Somerset, KY.
Do you support President Obama's health care policy?
Since: Sep 09
Free Health Care isn't FREE! Somebody has to pay for it. All you Democrats and Liberals want something for nothing. You want to put everything in life on the backs of the people who go out and make something of themselves. You think you are entitled to everything even though you have done NOTHING to deserve it! You make me sick! Obama makes me sick! Government control is the lack of freedom. Freedom is why this country exists! I love my freedoms. At least what freedoms haven't been taken from me to suit the lazy in this country. Ever think this country might be in the shape it is in because of all the "FREE" stuff? GEMONEYCHRISTMAS!!!
What do you call someone who chooses not have health insurance? If their not Bill Gates, I call them irresponsible. The mandate promotes responsibility, excluding those that can't pay. What's the problem? If you can't pay prove it. If you can'r prove it, pay. Welfare is about responsible people paying for the irresponsible. Don't blame irresponsibility on freedom of choice. Good try dead beat.
Following facts not known by those delusional fools drinking the tea!
OK, class, to get at this, we are going to have a pop quiz today, but this should be an easy one, so stop that whining or Phil Gramm will teach this course, you should all get 100%. Why? Because every week or so, the peculiarly tanned John Boehner--loved by his colleagues for providing them Tobacco Industry lobbying checks on the House Floor, so you know, if you like lung cancer, you can love him too, besides he looks so totally hip with that, that, whatever that tan is--pronounces the Obama stimulus plan a failure, pointing to the unemployment numbers. He usually proceeds to contrast this dismal picture with the nirvana brought about by the Reagan tax cuts.
Certainly, as good students of history, you recognize that Reagan did not inherit the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression. Nor did he inherit two wars, nor the collapse of the automobile industry, nor 8 years of budget profligacy, nor the radical right wing championing (and avoiding service in) another war or two or three. The retirement of the baby-boomers was 25 years in the future, not already ongoing and accelerating.
And, of course, you don't need little Johnny Boehner to tell you that tax rates, even for the wealthiest Americans, are now already 14% lower than Reagan's 1981 tax cut, nor that 95% of Americans received a tax cut in the Obama stimulus, nor that tax rates will still be 10.5% lower for the wealthiest when Obama allows the George W tax cuts to expire, nor that those cuts were intended to expire for the simple reason that they were projected then to cause to big a hole in the deficit.
But this, of course, begs the question as to what the Reagan tax cuts, such as they were, actually did achieve. At the same point in Reagan's Presidency as we are now at in Obama's, what was unemployment, and how long before it began to decline?
Class, I am shocked, shocked, that no one is raising his right hand. So, I'll tell you. Reagan inherited an unemployment rate of 7.6%, no wars, no major financial crisis, a still robust auto industry, a right wing clamoring for increased defense spending (that helps domestic employment), no retiring baby boomers actually taking down social security funds.
To answer the pop quiz: the unemployment rate under Reagan went from 7.6% to 9.7-9.8% in the summer after his inaugural, and remained at that level for two years, before it began to decline in the summer of 1983.
The most UnAmerican on the ticket, and probably as ignorant to the Constitution as Sarah P.
Rick Perry believes as he states in his own words:
“When we came into the nation in 1845, we were a republic, we were a stand-alone nation,” the governor can be heard saying.“And one of the deals was, we can leave anytime we want. So we’re kind of thinking about that again.”
Yet the reality is:
Secession has been a topic of discussion for a while and Texas Governor Rick Perry's use of the word only intensified the discussion.
The starting place for analysis is the annexation documents when Texas joined the Union in 1845. Those documents contained a provision for Texas to be able to split itself into four additional states. This is no big deal since the United States Constitution specifically allows any state to split. But the bar is set impossibly high, so it's not likely this will ever happen in Texas or anywhere else.
Contrary to popular myth, the documents contained no provision allowing Texas to secede or any language that could be so construed.
Three false beliefs about Texas history keep bubbling up, and need to be debunked every time. The first is that Texas had a right to secede; the second is that Texas can divide itself into five states; and the third is that the Texas flag gets special rights over all other state flags in the nation.
The front runner is a joke, dumber than Bush and even less capable to run the nation.
And Romney said his Health Reform was a model for the nation, now that Romney care is enacted at the national level he flips and flops like a fish on the dock.
Wait the new front runner is tricking the public by inverting 666.
Hey Ru, you out did yourself on that post. How great was it? I'll tell you, "SUPER GREAT". Right on the money. The wagons are circled around stupid Republicans, not because of wishful thinking, because their stupid. Rick Perry is from another world. Has he been hiding for all these years?
it just plain sucks.
