I believe the govt. has too much say in my life now. They need to figure out how to cut the cost of health care not insurance. If they would quit the welfare program they would have more money. They need to stop the skyrocketting price at the Dr. office and hospitals. You cant afford to go to the Dr. If we all had insurance like Congress has it would be o.k. We the tax payers pay your med bills and you still make 3-5 times more money than we do. I am a gun owner and I will fight to keep my guns and will not pay the govt. to let me keep it. Cut the wages of Congress, ditch their housecall visits, and make them pay their own bills. Make them become a real person.

To say, "some change is better than no change", is about as stupid as anything I have ever heard. Wake up sheeple! This isn't going to be free, as I have see reported that it will cost up to $25,000 annually for a family of 4, and they will tell you when, where and what they will do for you. You will not have any choice, just as in Canada. If you do not believe that, just find any Canadian that comes to the USA to get surgeries that they do not approve in Canada.

The government option will not be your choice, it will be their choice and you will have to take it.

Look around the United States. 44,000 Americans die each year from the lack of health insurance. It's a disgrace that insurance companies can deny you coverage because of ridiculous existing conditions, including acne. They can and do cancel your coverage the second you become ill, even if you've paid into their system for years.

I don't understand defending these insurance companies who are nothing more than death merchants. Personally, I'd much rather pay for a public option so I don't have to hand these pirates the additional cash they need to make their stockholders happy or pay their CEO's 100 million a year. I want choice. We all do. And I just choose not to enrich these greedy SOB's in the health insurance industry. Why would anyone?

Obama isn't the messiah, just a sheeple herder. When someone offers you something for nothing, that's what you get, nothing.

I agree something needs to be done with the cost of health care, but government control is not the answer. I have one nephew that has free health care because he is part Indian - has two busted eardrums because he had to wait in line until it was his turn. A couple of uncles who receive services from the VA - when they can, and if the VA feels like they need the medical care they get it if not then they have to find someplace else. Another nephew that is in the Army and his little 3 year old girl had to sit for 6 hours, first come first serve, with a compound fracture to her arm when she fell off her front porch in Georgia.
To me that isn't any better.
Now, if you are on welfare, that's the best insurance around. I had a nephew that lived with me and the state took better care of him than I could take care of my own kids, eyes were checked - free contacts and glasses, physicals yearly - free drugs - free ER. It was pretty disgusting. I don't begrudge anybody healthcare, but I don't think the government has a clue - and they can't pay for anything as it is.

It's not a Republican or a Democrat thing, it's the idiots that get to say what happens to the rest of us - according to those in charge, we are poor hillbilly retards that don't know what's for our own good. AND THAT PISSES ME OFF!

Sedantastic, what would you like to see done? The private insurance companies are completely out of control - they deny pre-existing conditions, their rates are unaffordable and getting more so every year, and they often refuse to pay when you get sick. They let us die while their executives rack up multi-million dollar salaries.

The public option isn't going to curb their most vile behaviors, but at least it gives people who don't get insurance through their employers a choice in their health care. You know you won't be kicked to the curb if you get sick, and the cost of it won't increase 7-9% each year to satisfy shareholder and Wall Street greed.

The public option won't be free. It isn't welfare. It's just offering us a choice, and I think that's a positive thing.

I am not saying that the private health care system isnt screwed up. But the public option is if your employer doesnt offer ins. Well that wont happen. They are trying to force ALL employers to get ins. for their help. If they do not they will be fined. The people who have ins. will incur the extra cost also. When I have to pay for welfare recips, and our govt. officials extraordinary ins. now, I sure dont want to take up the slack that they will be passing on to those of us with ins.

44,000 people die each year because they don't have health insurance?? Give me a break if that many people were dying of anything we would all know these people . I'm going on 60 years old was in the health care industry for over twenty years and I do not know anyone who has died because they didn't have health insurance. Think I,m wrong ? Well put down your Obama Coolaid for a minute and Think . About that same number of people you so foolishly throw out die every year from Auto accident or smoking and look at how many people you AND I know that have died from either of those causes . Then look again at the 44K that are supposed to be keeling over from no health insurance. IT"S NOT HAPPENING It's an OBAMA Lie Just like most everything else that spews out of that mans mouth. Ok Now have a big drink of Coolaid , you've earned it.

Obama's Premise is a Lie out and out . I have been involved with socialized Medicine in The US Army, US Airforce, The indian Health Service and The VA and it is NOT a model for the type of health service I want for this country. Let people buy health insurance across state lines , Limit Insurance companies ability to deny based on pre-existing conditions , Keep the Federal government out of the Dr's officce as much as possible , Reform tort law.

Well said Waistgunner. The states need to take ahold of the insurance companies and get a handle on them. Medicare & Medicaid are cutting payments to physcians, and hospitals. Meanwhile, malpractice insurance is going up,(frivolous lawsuits) expenses are going up,(wages, medicare taxes, medicaid taxes, federal taxes, energy costs, gas, electric, water, schooling, ongoing schooling physcians have to have continuing education every year as do alot of the technical staff.) Something needs to be done to the lawyers and the insurance people, but not a government run health plan.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Gemini

Mercury will backtrack through your finances over the next few weeks, which isn't a very seasonal thought if you're already well aware that you've overspent this month. Be prepared to do some juggling or to seek expert advice if you're worried about how you're going to cope. You may be kept busy handling inheritance, tax or insurance matters, preparing investment analysis, and allocating funds for the repayment or collection of debts.
