YOU are and idiot. I have great health. It may not be perfect but it sure beats the hell out of yours. I have many american relatives and they agree with me. If you have had a prior illness you cannot be denied medical coverage. We have full access to all medical procedures and we don't have to worry about losing our savings or mortgaging our house to pay our medical bills. Every year I have free flu shots if I want one.My children can go to the doctors for a fever or a cough or a rash and I don't pay a thing. If Obama is on the right track for anything it is your healthcare.

Nationalised healthcare is just better. I wouldn't dream of changing our system. I think you'd benefit but can't understand why you're so opposed to something that works everywhere else.

Of course it's not free. But it is free of unexpected bills.

There are no concerns over pre-existing conditions, no concerns about how and where to get medical insurance, no restrictions about which hospital your HMO approves, no worries about what your insurance does or does not cover, no worries about extortionate medication costs and no worries about changing insurance premiums.

And while we're talking about costs. The percentage of US GDP spent on Medicare/aid is only slightly less than the percentage GDP the UK spends on the entire NHS. Your system is so bloated and greedy that even basic socialised care is cripplingly expensive...and you pay for that via your taxes.

As far as I can see, our tax levels are pretty similar to yours and whilst we do pay a reasonably large chunk in National Insurance it is worth it. As a nation, you are paying billions more than you need just to keep the HMO's happy and you think we're wasting money!

Our NHS is a non-profit organisation, money is not wasted unnecessarily on an isurance cartell or a health system that demands collossal funds.
