While health care for everyone is not a "Constitutional Right", I believe it is the right thing to do; it is morally right to do it.

it will only help those who already get enough free handouts, like 200.oo each kid for school supplies.
Those who are lucky enough to have a job, and worry every day about losing it and thier Health ins may reconsider the value of hardwork. Those who work hard and play it straight are stuck in the middle again!

Life isn't free and we should work for what we get. We give way too much to the lazy already. As the saying goes, "Keep working, millions on welfare depend on you"

What is the big deal with Health Care for those who don't want to pay, or can't pay? They are taken care by Medicaid anyway? Don't we have millions of women coming here illegally from other countries pregnant and they are taken care?

Damn. It's like a Republican echo chamber of ignorance in here.

It's not whether health care should be "free" - nothing's free. It's to get away from the broken system we have, now, where insurance companies make money by shafting their customers.

Those complaining that "hard working, straight shooting" folks are going to get shafted have obviously never felt the sting of being denied a rightful claim, or being kicked out of their coverage, because their insurance company simply felt it was better for their bottom line. Sucks for you if you have to wipe out your life's savings, and go into crushing debt, to pay for treatment that should've been covered.

This plan will not to take away your choices; if you still want to pay extra for a certain procedure, you can.

Will it be perfect? A model of Utopian health care? Heck, no. But it _has_ to be better than it currently is. I'm not in total agreement with everything about it, but anything that makes the insurance giants take notice that we're sick of their sh!t is a "good thing" in my book.

I understand exactly what you are talking about. I know a couple who raised 8 kids and it was a struggle with all of those kids. He had a good job and worked all the time. She worked too. Then she got sick and couldn't work anymore. About a year before she died she got really sick and put into a nursing home for rehabilitation. Their insurance would pay for 30 days in the nursing home. Her doctor happened to go on a long vacation just before the 30 days were up and didn't discharge her. By the time he returned their medical bill was way in the thousands and they couldn't pay it. This couple, who worked all of those years and raised all of these kids, had to go bankrupt because of this. It really took alot out of both of them, and they didn't live very long after that. It's such a shame, and it can happen to anyone the way things are now. The insurance companies and drug companies don't care about us! They are making billions off of us.

I don't watch Fox News. What I do watch is the welfare people going into Parkview and getting name brand food, top choice steaks and beer, while I have to pinch pennys. I watch the welfare people go into Rite-Aid and get their medications for free, while I have to pay. I watch the welfare people go to the doctors office, ER, optometrist and dentist for FREE, when I have to pay for all of the above.

I do think that something needs to be done so that the people who have insurance don't get screwed, but I really think that we do enough for the lazy, unwilling to educate themselves, free loading scum bags.

One other thing I get to watch, 23% of my paycheck go and pay for them. I do not need to watch Fox News to know that we do enough for those who are too damn lazy.

I know more than a few people who work full-time, for minimum wage or just above the minimum. Their jobs don't offer health insurance. But, they still make too much $ to qualify for Medicaid. Those are the people I am concerned about helping. They are definitely not lazy, or "scum-bags". They're simply caught up in a broken system.
Also, all recipients of welfare and medicaid shouldn't all be bunched together. I know that there are way too many people who are taking advantage of the system. But, there ARE those who REALLY need the help.
Are the senior citizens who use Medicare "scum-bags"? Medicare is a federal program, paid for with our tax dollars. Where's the outrage over that? The V.A. is a federal program. Are those men and women also lazy and unwilling to educate themselves? Are they "scum-bags" too?

Ok, let me clarify myself. I have made this same comment in many, many other posts, but here goes again.

For those people that work and don't happen to have insurance, I am all for helping them. Again, seasoned citizens are all okay in my book too. Same thing for the single parents who are doing their best. I get it and am more than happy to help them in any way possible. If you are willing to work or have worked all of your life and still need help, I say help them all that we can.

I am talking about the scum bags who do nothing yet expect the working people, all working people (even those that are barely making it)to give them a free ride. I have neither the time or sympathy for them. McDonalds is always looking for people. There are no reasons for someone capable of working to do nothing yet expect handouts.

In this city, county and state, their are way too many people who are satisfied with doing little to nothing and yet expect to live the good life. This state condones such mentality and I really feel sorry for those people. Having no self respect has to be one of the worst things.

I would much rather pay someones child care, energy and food bill so that they could work or better yet, go and get a college education than to sit at home and do nothing.

I worked full time and attended college full time, all the while being a parent without insurance for my family. I know what it is like. I know that it would have been much easier letting others pay my way but I had too much pride. I worked my ass off to have what I have and sacrificed a lot.

My anger and disgust is not directed towards those that try, it is at those that expect.

I never said anything about the VA, other than I use their services. I picked up a weapon and served this country. I will say that the government doesn't do enough for the wounded vets and if the federal government models their health care after the VA, then God help all of us.

Glen Beck is a real human being with a real mental illness. New? He's been on TV and radio for about 30 years. He does nothing but instill fear and anger in people.

There is such thing as the working poor. They bust their butts and make just enought to squeak by, yet too much to get help from social services.

Someone isn't mucking about today, and if they're annoyed about something they'll come right out with it. This means you could be on the receiving end of some zingers, but equally it means that you'll be giving as good as you get.
