With the country's massive debt, we can't afford free medical care.
but you can afford to spend millions for fighting and killing people in the east. hmm, where is ones priorities? I guess those who have ins. don't care about those who do not have it, who cares, everyone for themselves. We live in a selfish world. European had this kind of ins. as long as I known it, and it works better then the system we are on. Here it is just greed, think pharmacies on every corner, and banks right next to it. They take your money then shovel it into the banking system. Why do people here go elsewhere to get medical help ?? Because they get help with more advanced technologies there. Better care. When you get really sick, the ins. cuts you off here, so you don't have them when you need them most. That doesn't happen anywhere else. You have a preexisting condition, you are out, no one wants to ins. you, when you need them the most. think about it.

what we have works
maybe for you, there are a lot of people out there dying without ins. Some are rejected, because of pre-existing condition. And the ins. can cut you off at anytime when they see they are loosing money with you. Why are people so scared to try something new that works. I will never understand. Of course nothing is perfect, we live in an imperfect world. But anywhere else, no one is without ins., or can reject you, when you need help, only here.

I still respect the office of the Presidency, but I do not share ANY of this administration's vision for our country. I never thought I would see the day ....

this reform only helps the insurance companies. across the board their stocks have been rising in anticipation of the bill passing.

it's disgusting that the politicians pass these 2000+ page bills without reading their contents. 500 BILLION in medicare cuts, thats sooo liberal/socialist (sarcasm). yes DEATH PANELS ARE in the bill.. and to be specific, there is language that says "no act of congress can repeal the death panels."

it is completely obvious that the owners in washington are using a real crisis in the United States to solidify a nightmare agenda. taxes on the air you breathe, historic profits for the megabanks that ruined our country, no accountability at the federal reserve, the people that created the horrors we are witnessing are still in charge.

and now, health care with all the compassion of the IRS, the speed of the DMV, fines and possible imprisonment if you do not buy health insurance, impossible mandates, and on and on... it's time to wake up.

also, on health care:

people don't seem to realize it was Nixon that brought in HMO. what did we have before that? FDR's Hill-Burton system... why can't we go back to that? BECAUSE THE INSURANCE COMPANIES WROTE THE DAMN BILL.

read Kucinich's "Why I voted NO." or study the comments from Howard Dean, if you're so blindly partisan that you can only listen to a blue.

Health care is not a right, as many of you would like it to be. I dont have health insurance, but i sure as hell dont want the government giving it to me.

Hondo, ole buddy, you are obviously way, way out of touch with reality. There's much more that works with our health care system than doesn't. This legislation that's being shoved down our throats does nearly NOTHING to attack those issues. Just as KAY...where's the tort reform, where's the insurance competition, where's the fairness so that everyone gets a break like the unions.....ASK KAY....

Imposing Fascism is not the solution to the health care problem. Health Care is a commodity; the government should get out of the health care business and let the market manage itself. That will make it possible for the government to help the last few people who cannot care for themselves.

We have got to get rid of Farm Subsidies. That would pay for all this. Why not try a free market in farming. Same as this.
Pres Reagan once said of the govt: "if it moves, they tax it; if it still moves, they regulate it; if it stops moving, they subsidize it". You are talking our language on this topic.
But what does this topic have to do with the price of tea in China? And will you also agree that govt. over-regulates as well as over subsidizes? Since you are struggling to find a way "to pay for all this", I don't think we are talking the same lingo after all. In addition, can anyone seriously clain that diverted farm subsidies cover many trillions of dollars for welfare-healthcare?(Yes, a disingenuous statist.)
