We have a provision in the Constitution that states the government cannot coerce or force it's citizens to support or buy a product or service, unless in the case of an amendment and not simply by the wave of a pen as someone at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue wishes to do.

Poor and Middle class people have no health insurance. President Obama's health care will get rid of that. Everyone should have health care.

There is no provision about health care in the Constitution. Read it please.

So, plenty of things aren't in the provision of the constitution. What about Barbecue eating establishments. That's not in the Constitution. Abortion, segregation, or schools aren't in the Constitution. Yet the court has to decide cases dealing with these, and thousands of other subjects. Get a life ROB.

There ought to be compassion and financial responsibility going hand in hand.Insurance is not healthcare, words mean things that is why the parties bickering over this issue cannot agree on what to do.First get the wording right then the policy.

I agree, responsibility is buying insurance. Anyone that disagrees is nothing more then a taker. The mandate makes sense.

Interesting moniker "TV Man"but yes the mandate makes sense as long as it is a Funded mandate and not an arbitrary decree which hurts the pocket book of the subsciber (Us).Spot on Spot on

Why would it not be funded? Premiums count as funding, as well as fines.

Good point I should have said government unfunded mandates like the ones I encounter as a city bus driver.Such as add on equipment we don't get money for it comes from the salaries during collective bargaining.i don't want to get specific I might offend someone and I would rather have a civilized discourse.

The Tea Party is against the health care mandate, that's why I thought the escape artist theme worked. It's easy , you right click and highlight the link, then press copy. When you move to your page ,right click again, and press paste. All done. Wow, I can't believe you saw these guys back in the 70's. I just meant one of the members repairing his 1966 "starfire 3", Guild Guitar. Today it's worth quite a bit.

The TEA PARTY doesn't understand insurance. The past system promotes irresponsibility. We have 50 million people choosing not to pay for health insurance. Free health care promotes irresponsibility. A mandate is not welfare, it's a way to promote responsibility. If you disagree, your nothing more then a socialist.

Why, of course, Rob.As long as those fringe attachments to medical coverage-all INSURANCE COMPANIES, are required to make insurance transportable across state lines. Competition in free capitalistic growth society is good. Nobody is going to 'give you'; I sure won't.

This is one area GOV should come in on, force all private insurance carriers(wildly unregulated in Arizona and all states) to be competitive across all state lines. Keep our competitive captitalistic society on sound tract. Bleed out the weak, support the strong providers; keep us insured fairly.
