ObamaCare's "death spiral" has begun!

You people (Like Bruce Soloman) voted for this, now you will begin to enjoy it. Below is article posted in the most liberal of Obama's Media Outlets.

As reported by The New York (LIBERAL)Times…

“Health insurance companies across the country are seeking and winning double-digit increases in premiums for customers, even though one of the biggest objectives of the Obama administration’s health care law was to stem the rapid rise in insurance costs for consumers.”

This phenomenon comes as no surprise to anyone who has been following legal and moral opposition to ObamaCare. Please see my urgent message below

The New York Times (NYT) report is stirring both supporters and detractors of the President’s takeover of America’s healthcare system. From our point of view, what is extraordinary is the Times’ conclusion that calls for even more government control!

Simply stated, The NYT suggests that the double-digit increase in healthcare premiums is because federal regulators do not have enough power to control rates by insurers – although the written code of ObamaCare has over 2,700 pages of regulations, including ponderous guidelines for rates!

This doesn’t even take into consideration the thousands of pages of subsequent regulations that are being enacted by unelected bureaucrats at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Ascertaining that the federal government doesn’t have enough power yet is moving past a socialist viewpoint into full blown, iron-fisted communism!

More reasonable voices weighing in on the debate rightly contend that the rate hikes stem from ObamaCare’s new mandates, which cost the insurers more money – like providing free contraception and abortifacients – and forcing insurers to accept any pre-existing conditions.

The higher cost of these mandates is coupled with the fact that young people, who are the backbone of an insurer’s profit margin, are not buying health insurance.

++The ObamaCare “death spiral” has begun.

In 2014 when ObamaCare is fully implemented and healthcare rates continue rising, it’s likely that more and more of the insurers’ desirable young people – who don’t see themselves as needing health coverage – will likely pay the tax (penalty) instead of purchasing insurance.

As Philip Klein, Senior Editorial Writer of the Washington Examiner, reported yesterday…

“Should premiums continue to rise, more and more uninsured Americans are going to choose to pay the penalty rather than purchase expensive insurance. And those who go without insurance are more likely to be the ones who can afford to do so – young and healthy Americans with limited medical expenses.

“Should this occur, insurers would have to raise premiums even more to subsidize the expenses of the sicker beneficiaries they must cover under the law. This, in turn, would cause additional people to forgo insurance and pay the fine. And so on. This is known in the health care policy community as the “death spiral” and it’s one of the biggest threats to the structure of Obamacare.”

The more ObamaCare is unveiled, the less Americans like it – and the more the healthcare industry is traumatized by it.

That’s why Nancy Pelosi said we would have to pass the law to find out what’s in it. It’s being written day-by-day by federal bureaucrats as we go! That’s why the best way of stopping it is in the courts.

If an ObamaCare “death spiral” would take ObamaCare to its knees, I would be all for letting it play out. But the administration clearly intends to write “fixes for fixes for fixes” to keep the new healthcare law’s implementation moving forward. And Obama's ultimate plan is to create a crisis and then have the government rush in and take over the entire healthcare system.

Mass Shootings under Obama are increasing.
The Liberal Media loves to publicize killing and murders, and manufacture news not report it. Copy cat actions always follow the news reporting of killings. If you look down below at the FACTS, not the hysteria, you will notice most of them take place at Schools. If Cuomo was not looking to jump on the hysteria bandwagon, he would be looking to make the schools safe, and that is ALL SCHOOLS NOT JUST THE INNER CITY SCHOOLS. Do you really believe that having those gun restrictions laws is going to stop some sick young person from not committing these terrible acts? If Cuomo believes that, then he should Step Down as Governor. Better checks on those that purchase guns, thats a positive step.
Guards at ALL NEW YORK SCHOOLS, or allowing someone in school to be trained and be able to stop mass killings in schools is another positive
action. Most of those steps should have been in place a long time ago. His proposed gun restrictions will not be effective, and will be just a political show. His Hysterical actions, which are political in nature are not corrective actions.

The left is scoffing at the belief held by Second Amendment supporters that their right to bear arms is in part meant to act as a check on tyrannical government. Government turning tyrannical is ridiculous, many leftists say. But isn’t this the most absurd hypocrisy because didn’t they build their entire lefty edifice on the idea that government has been oppressing everyone?

Only the most recent person making this claim is CNN’s Piers Morgan, a foreigner and British citizen. He is grasping at any argument in his attempt to destroy our Constitution. On ABC’s This Week former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm also made this false claim.

From the Civil Rights movement, to the 60′s era hippies and yippies and their riots, to constant racebaiting, gay advocacy, university affirmative action, racial quotas, even all the way to the last few years when the childish Occupy Wall Street “movement” started, all of these movements arose because the left claimed that government had been oppressing any particular voting constituency to which they wanted to appeal.

How often have you heard the left claim that southern police forces are evil because they are racists that oppress blacks, gays, and women and do so because they have the power of the gun and the law behind them? And how many bad Hollyweird movies have been based on that premise?

So, the entirety of the left-wing movement is based on the single bedrock idea that only they can stop out of control governments from abusing people, but they do claim that government is oppressive nonetheless.

Yet, we have that same left-wing establishment now scoffing at Second Amendment supporters for saying they may someday need their firearms to protect themselves from an out of control government?

After they’ve spent 50 years–nay over 100 years–claiming that government is oppressing people right here, right now? After all that, now they are saying that assuming government can get out of hand is absurd?

Of course, we know why they are assuming this hypocritical position, right? It’s because they are in charge right now and they assume they could never be tyrants. Also because they desperately want some way to ridicule the right and they’ll use any means necessary to do it despite that it makes them hypocrites or not.

The left are just liars. Plain and simple

Billionaires Dumping Stocks, Economist Knows Why

Despite the 6.5% stock market rally over the last three months, a handful of billionaires are quietly dumping their American stocks ... and fast.

Warren Buffett, who has been a cheerleader for U.S. stocks for quite some time, is dumping shares at an alarming rate. He recently complained of “disappointing performance” in dyed-in-the-wool American companies like Johnson & Johnson, Procter & Gamble, and Kraft Foods.

In the latest filing for Buffett’s holding company Berkshire Hathaway, Buffett has been drastically reducing his exposure to stocks that depend on consumer purchasing habits. Berkshire sold roughly 19 million shares of Johnson & Johnson, and reduced his overall stake in “consumer product stocks” by 21%. Berkshire Hathaway also sold its entire stake in California-based computer parts supplier Intel.

With 70% of the U.S. economy dependent on consumer spending, Buffett’s apparent lack of faith in these companies’ future prospects is worrisome.

Unfortunately Buffett isn’t alone.

Fellow billionaire John Paulson, who made a fortune betting on the subprime mortgage meltdown, is clearing out of U.S. stocks too. During the second quarter of the year, Paulson’s hedge fund, Paulson & Co., dumped 14 million shares of JPMorgan Chase. The fund also dumped its entire position in discount retailer Family Dollar and consumer-goods maker Sara Lee.

Finally, billionaire George Soros recently sold nearly all of his bank stocks, including shares of JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, and Goldman Sachs. Between the three banks, Soros sold more than a million shares.

So why are these billionaires dumping their shares of U.S. companies?

After all, the stock market is still in the midst of its historic rally. Real estate prices have finally leveled off, and for the first time in five years are actually rising in many locations. And the unemployment rate seems to have stabilized.

It’s very likely that these professional investors are aware of specific research that points toward a massive market correction, as much as 90%.

One such person publishing this research is Robert Wiedemer, an esteemed economist and author of the New York Times best-selling book Aftershock.

Should this piece be named "The rats abandoning the sinking ship?" Buffet, Socialist George Soros,
and crew all Obama backers can afford to back Obama as long as they were making money. What happened with Buffet and his "Raise taxes?" Guess he loves his money more than America.

Welcome to Obama bankrupting America.

Bill Clinton Warns Dems: Don’t ‘Patronize’ and Look ‘Down Your Nose’ at Gun Culture
Jan. 19, 2013 11:07pm Erica Ritz

Bill Clinton Warms Democratic Donors Not to Patronize Second Amendment Gun Supporters

Former U.S. President Bill Clinton spoke with top Democratic donors at a private meeting on Saturday where, according to Politico, he warned the group to treat gun control differently than other political issues.

“Do not patronize the passionate supporters of your opponents by looking down your nose at them,” Clinton reportedly said.“A lot of these people live in a world very different from the world lived in by the people proposing these things…”

He proceeded to explain how, though polling data is certainly useful for politicians, it doesn’t measure the emotion and enthusiasm associated with an issue. And it’s the passion associated with gun control, Clinton argued, that makes it so delicate. Clinton dedicated a substantial portion of his 40-minute address before a joint meeting of the Obama National Finance Committee and a group of business leaders to the issue of guns and gun control, saying that it was a test-case for President Barack Obama’s grass-roots movements…

“The way the Obama campaign won Florida, won Ohio, won this election by more than projected was the combination of technology, social media and personal contact,” Clinton said. That’s “the only way that our side will ever be able to even up the votes in the midterms and as these issues come up, really touch people and talk to them about it.” But he said that he understands the culture that permeates a state like Arkansas — where guns are a longstanding part of local culture.

“A lot of these people … all they’ve got is their hunting and their fishing,” he told the Democratic financiers.“Or they’re living in a place where they don’t have much police presence. Or they’ve been listening to this stuff for so long that they believe it all.”[Emphasis added]

In the opinion of the former president, those who are patting themselves on the back for their “brave” efforts on gun control may not be seeing the full picture.

“Do not be self-congratulatory about how brave you [are] for being for this” gun control push, he said.“The only brave people are the people who are going to lose their jobs if they vote with you.”

Gun Laws Saw these comments in WSJ:

Ft Hood~~~ Registered Democrat ~ Muslim

Columbine ~~~ Too young to vote; both families were registered ~
Democrats and progressive liberals

Virginia Tech ~~~ Wrote hate mail to President Bush and to his staff ~
Registered Democrat

Colorado Theater ~~~ Registered Democrat; staff worker on the Obama
campaign; Occupy Wall Street participant; progressive liberal

Connecticut School Shooter-~~~ Registered Democrat; hated Christians.

All of these shooters were liberal Democrats.

Considering the broad approach so far being suggested as solutions to
gun violence, a more fruitful one may be one that all Democrats are
banned from purchasing firearms. Any demographic study will show that
the preponderance of gun violence is centered in heavily Democratic
areas (IE: Chicago , Detroit , etc.). If Democrats are banned from all
gun purchases it seems highly likely that the bulk of gun deaths a
year would be markedly reduced.

This common sense measure should be instituted immediately and would
certainly be much more effective than assault rifle or large capacity
magazine bans presently being proposed.

I guess Hillary and Barack never heard this speech by a Great Democratic President, otherwise the present administration would be open, and above board, admitting mistakes not hiding them. Obama had claimed that he would have the most open administration ever, instead he has made secret his Healthcare bill instead of having the debate on tv, in an open environment, and yet his lap dog Nancy Pewlousy says to her constituents " you have to vote on the health care bill inorder to know what is in it", for fear it would not be passed. Listen to a real presidents speech, not "just words" as Obama had said, but actions in truth:

Can you compare this Democratic President with the great President that John F Kennedy was?

DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY LATEST TO HIGHLIGHT FLAWED LOGIC OF CUOMO GUN GRAB

It may not take ‘10 bullets to kill a deer’, but… an unloaded AR-15 protected a household

Brewster, N.Y.– 1/24/2013 – The Department of Homeland Security is the latest to find Governor Cuomo’s anti-Second Amendment agenda is at odds with reality. A report by Steve McGough of RadioViceOnline.com cites a General Service Administration (GSA) request for proposal (RFP) on behalf of the Department of Homeland Security and member components such as Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) seeking over 7,000 AR-15’s and matching 30 round clips.

The RFP describes these weapons as “personal defense weapons” and states they are “suitable for personal defense use in close quarters.” Governor Cuomo in his recently passed “SAFE Act” has banned these very same modern sporting rifles and clips the federal government finds to be “personal defense weapons.”

This federal government rebuke of Cuomo comes just hours after news broke that two students from Rochester lives were evidently saved by an AR-15 as armed intruders entered their home. The very same personal defense weapon Cuomo plans to take out of law abiding gun owners hands protected two of New York’s best and brightest.

Senator Greg Ball (Patterson – R, C, I) Chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee said,“Now the Department of Homeland Security even agrees that these modern sporting firearms, made illegal by Governor Cuomo, are suitable for self defense. On top of that, a recent story reports that two RIT students who were legal gun owners were protected by an AR-15. The story may have had a very tragic ending, had Governor Cuomo’s anti-self defense bill been in full effect. If the story is accurate, their legal ownership of this modern sporting rifle evidently saved their lives. While Cuomo says ‘it doesn’t take 10 bullets to kill a deer’, it evidently only took an unloaded AR-15 to protect a household. Luckily these criminals struck before Governor Cuomo’s gun grab was fully unleashed.”

Source: http://www.nysenate.gov/press-release/departm...

Thought this was interesting. Clearly our Governor is clueless when it comes to defending yourself. According to doctor's a single gunshot (that doesn't hit any vital's, heart, aorta, brain, spinal cord etc.) has a high probability of leaving an intruder WOUNDED, but not KILLED and certainly not incapable of firing back. 7 rounds is not adequate when faced with 2 or more intruder's and even 10 round's is pushing it. If we want protection 20+ round magazines are our only option and Cuomo has just outlawed them with his "SAFE Act." The Second Amendment was not made to protect the right's of a hunter. Where does it guarantee us the right to hunt? It was made to protect the people against Government tyranny and as such we should be able to purchase an M1A1 without hassle from the ATF. As it is we are terribly outgunned by the military and even the police force due to the compromises we've made over the years.

Sheriffs have risen up all over our great nation to stand up against the unconstitutional gun control measures being taken.

The following is a list of sheriffs and state sheriff’s associations from who have vowed to uphold and defend the Constitution against Obama’s unlawful gun control measures. I applaud these public servants for their courage and conviction.

I would encourage other Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers to add their voices to the growing numbers of faithful protectors of our freedom.

The Second Amendment
Posted on January 29, 2013 by Bulldog1

I received this letter from members of the SOF community on their concerns for America and the Second Amendment. This letter was signed by over 1100 members of the SOF community, of which the names will not be published as this is Active and Retired members.

Whether you agree with it or not, it is well worth the read.

29 Jan 2013

Protecting the Second Amendment – Why all Americans Should Be Concerned

We are current or former Army Reserve, National Guard, and active duty US Army Special Forces soldiers (Green Berets). We have all taken an oath to “…support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same.…” The Constitution of the United States is without a doubt the single greatest document in the history of mankind, codifying the fundamental principle of governmental power and authority being derived from and granted through the consent of the governed. Our Constitution established a system of governance that preserves, protects, and holds sacrosanct the individual rights and primacy of the governed as well as providing for the explicit protection of the governed from governmental tyranny and/or oppression. We have witnessed the insidious and iniquitous effects of tyranny and oppression on people all over the world. We and our forebears have embodied and personified our organizational motto, De Oppresso Liber [To Free the Oppressed], for more than a half century as we have fought, shed blood, and died in the pursuit of freedom for the oppressed

The second part of the current debate is over “high capacity magazines” capable of holding more than 10 rounds in the magazine. As experts in military weapons of all types, it is our considered opinion that reducing magazine capacity from 30 rounds to 10 rounds will only require an additional 6 -8 seconds to change two empty 10 round magazines with full magazines. Would an increase of 6 –8 seconds make any real difference to the outcome in a mass shooting incident? In our opinion it would not. Outlawing such “high capacity magazines” would, however, outlaw a class of firearms that are “in common use”. As such this would be in contravention to the opinion expressed by the U.S. Supreme Court recent decisions.

Moreover, when the Federal Assault Weapons Ban became law in 1994, manufacturers began retooling to produce firearms and magazines that were compliant. One of those ban-compliant firearms was the Hi-Point 995, which was sold with ten-round magazines. In 1999, five years into the Federal Assault Weapons Ban, the Columbine High School massacre occurred. One of the perpetrators, Eric Harris, was armed with a Hi-Point 995. Undeterred by the ten-round capacity of his magazines, Harris simply brought more of them: thirteen magazines would be found in the massacre’s aftermath. Harris fired 96 rounds before killing himself.

The undersigned Quiet Professionals hereby humbly stand ever present, ever ready, and ever vigilant.

Surprise, Surprise. NY rated bottom of survey of Least free state in the 50(got that mr Obama 50 states not 57) states.

Analysis

New York is by far the least free state in the Union. It is therefore no surprise that New York residents have been heading for the exits: 9.0 percent of the state’s 2000 population, on net, left the state for another state between 2000 and 2011, the highest such figure in the nation.1

New York has, by a wide margin, the highest taxes in the country: 14.0 percent of income, three and a half standard deviations above the national mean. New York is also the most indebted state, setting its own record high in FY 2010 at 33.2 percent of income. By comparison, government consumption plus subsidies and employment are only ranked slightly higher than average, implying that the state could benefit by shifting revenue sources from taxation and license fees to user fees.

New York fares poorly on economic regulation. New York City has rent control, which is estimated to cost residents about $300 million in deadweight loss alone.2 Eminent domain abuse is rampant. Labor law is poor, with no right-to-work law, restrictions on workers’ compensation funding options, and a required short-term disability program. New York has the strictest health insurance community rating regulations in the United States, which have wiped out the nongroup market. There has also been a dramatic increase in mandated coverages in 2009—10, rising to 54.9 percent of the cost of a no-mandated-benefit policy. On the positive side, the court system is slightly better than average. While insurance regulation remains strict, there has been a slight liberalization of personal auto insurance in 2009—10.

On personal freedoms, gun control laws are extremely restrictive, but marijuana laws are ranked better than average. Tobacco laws are extremely strict, and cigarette taxes are the highest in the country, encouraging the growth of a dangerous black market.3 Motorists are highly regulated, and home school regulations are excessive, but alcohol taxes are low, and so are non-drug victimless crimes arrests and the crime-adjusted incarceration rate. Same-sex marriage was legalized in 2011, which should raise the state about three places on personal freedom.
Policy Recommendations

Cut spending on police and fire protection, hospitals, housing and community development, libraries, public welfare, sanitation and sewerage, miscellaneous commercial activities, public transit, and employee retirement. Reduce all taxes, and pay down debt.
Abolish rent control. This one move would have raised New York eight places on regulatory freedom.
Slash tobacco taxes. Even adopting Pennsylvania’s still-restrictive tobacco regime would boost New York three places on personal freedom.
