After reading all these posts I finally got it. Health care reform is a communist plot to get us on the world money system, while giving lazy folks free health care, creating a Stephen King horror health care system for all, funding a war in Pakafghanistan, electing Obama Czars, spreading AIDS, and imposing death panels on old folks and Republicans. Now, I see why everyone is so opposed to it. Thanks for that enlightenment, all you informed commentors.

The Department of Defense POW/Missing Personnel Office (DPMO) announced today that the remains of a serviceman, missing in action from World War II, have been identified and will be returned to his family for burial with full military honors.
Army Air Forces 2nd Lt. Samuel E. Lunday, of Marianna, Fla., will be buried today, at Arlington National Cemetery near Washington, DC. On April 24, 1943, Lunday and four other U.S. servicemen were flying a C-87 Liberator Express aircraft over the Himalayan Mountains, from Yangkai, China, to their home base in Chabua, India. After losing radio communications following take-off, the crew was never heard from again. Eleven aerial search missions were unable to locate the aircraft or crew due to intense snows on the mountains at high altitudes, and dense jungle growth at lower altitudes.
As part of the war effort against the Japanese, U.S. Army Air Forces cargo planes based in India continually airlifted critical supplies over the high mountain ranges that comprise the Himalayas -- known as “The Hump”-- in support of American airbases in China. The amount of materiel flown over the Himalayas was a logistical achievement unparalleled at the time.
Almost 60 years later, in 2003, an American citizen discovered the wreckage of the C-87 aircraft while trekking in the mountains, approximately 100 miles from Chabua, near the Burmese border. He recovered the aircraft’s identification plate, military equipment and human remains. The artifacts and remains were turned over to U.S. officials for analysis. Attempts to excavate the site are being negotiated with the Indian government.
To determine the identity of the remains, scientists from the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command and the Armed Forces DNA Identification Laboratory used circumstantial evidence and mitochondrial DNA -- which matched that of Lunday’s nephews.
Of the 16 million Americans who served in World War II, more than 400,000 died. Today, more than 73,000 are unaccounted-for from the conflict.

This is either the best satirical post ever, or just more BS from the rednecks here in Marianna. My sarcasm meter is a bit wonky at the moment, so forgive me :p

Ok look yall. I think we can all agree that EVERYONE should have the right to be healthy right? Just...humans in general. With our technology we should be doing better. Now, all the expensive equipment and salaries for the healthcare professionals have to be paid for. Think of it like this. Why the HELL would you entrust private companies in search of profit to be in control of who gets cared for? I'm not saying the socialized healthcare option is PERFECT either, but we're talking about human beings here. No such thing as a perfect system.

Treating healthcare as a business is what got us in the situation we're in today. You can't blame insurance companies for dropping you when the whole point of running a business is profit. That's why for-profit healthcare doesn't work. You can look at most of the other first world countries, such as France. They have much better healthcare options through their social programs. Yes, they pay higher taxes to make up for it. Sometimes MUCH higher. But when you consider all the money being shelled out to the insurance companies who can drop you at a whim cause you were never a patient, you were a walking "liability and threat to profits".

And for all the people here in the deep south regurgitating the words "socialist" and "communist" as some kind of way to drum up fear in the fellow ignorant citizens. Stop. Think. Do you even really KNOW what socialism and communism is? Do you even know the two are not mutually compatible? Seriously, do research on it. Not from conservative think tanks or people who are still stuck in the cold war era either. Wikipedia is not a perfect source but it's a non-biased start.

In conclusion, we need to seriously put socialized healthcare on the table. Not the wishy-washy compromise that Obama had to do due to being blocked by those in congress getting paid by the insurance companies.

When I worked with the state, I had blue cross blue shild. I never used it for anything major.
I never even had 1 day in the hosptial.

When I got parkinsons, They stop paying for everything. I had to stop working due to the tremors.
I take two meds for my parkinsons. Each cost $250.00 per month. I could not afford that

I got medicare now because of my parkinsons. I thought I would be set, However, with thispart D medicare plan private health insurance, I still cannot get the right meds that I need

I do get some treatments for free. However, I do not get my meds because of big business again.
I get meds that has less strength in them, They do
not alway work.

I do not trust government.
I trust private health insurance companies even less.

you thank you like your insurance company, Just pray to GOD that you do not get sick and find out how much they like you

Why do you trust government less than private companies? What about the examples of other countries making it work? We already have plenty of other "socialist" programs paid for by tax dollars anyways. SOMEONE has to manage the money to pay for the professionals, medicine and equipment. Just curious on your thoughts.
