So Many people have lost Jobs in Overton County, and have no money to buy any insurance ,or that have been hurt and can't buy any insurance at any price, I'm glad Congress passed this bill. And the Republicans and Insurance was against, even saying The USA can't pay for this coverage yet we have plenty of Money to fight the Wars George W.Bush Started because of a lie.And If the USA can pay for Veterans health care and the Senate, and Congress I'm sure The USA can fuud this needed program,I'm very happy about passage of this bill.

Yep Mary Jane, now you will have healthcare, you've got extended unemployment benifits, food stamps, free college tuition and the list goes on of things paid for by the working tax payer. No need to get up and look for a job now. Thank God he sent us a savior in Obama and Mother Nancy.

I had cancer a few years ago. I'm find now but can't buy health care coverage. It's not that I can't afford it but I have a pre-existing condition. I work for a firm with 15 employees which means I can't get health coverage on my employers plan because I would have to answer medical history questions and the insurance company denied my coverage. Before cancer, no problem with insurance, hardly ever needed it except for cold ever now and then. Did not know that when I changed jobs to a smaller company an insurance company could refuse coverage but they can and do. So yes to the health care bill. I would really rather the opportunity to buy coverage than not seek treatment or go bankrupt from medical bills. You never know when an illness will change your life, it can happen to anyone. I have never had food stamps, free tuition (I have the student loan bills to prove it) or any other state or gov assisance.

I have never gotten food stamps. I too have student loans. I am disable but I am not 65 and I cannot buy a supplement. I draw too much to get TennCare. But no one will sell me one a supplement I have already had two surgeries this year. People like me that is just above the poverty line need help too. Yet young able bodied unmarried men with children can get TennCare. I worked when my children were small. I didnt get TennCare. This just shows how broken our system is. No help for the eldery and disabled. This is such a shame and it just shows how sorry Bredesen is. People like me need to be able to buy insurance too. I hope we get the chance with the reform. But it may just be shi....t like everything else these days.

Billy Joe.I have insurance but many don't in Tn about 14 % without or cant buy any, because they have had cancer or heart problem,And the medicine or chemo cost is over $8000.00 a treatment, because the RX companies are so gretty. I also am not on welfare or getting foodstamps as republicans like to stop anything that helps a poor or working person, but if it is helping them or big oil or insurance,or the drug companies you people are all for it. Then vote for a moron as George W.Bush who took us to war because of lies he told but hey that is Ok,as long as a republican does it..

Billy Joe, i have noticed in the last several years that the rich get richer and the poor are screwed by the fatcats. How do you justify what happened on Wall Street and the big bailout? Why should TN uninsured not be able to have decent healthcare. I am in the same situation as Jill and some of the others. I do not have insurance. I can't afford to pay $1000-$2000 a month for insurance. I am sure you are sitting there with a group policy with a company or you would not be spouting off such crap. Try getting an individual policy with a health condition. You won't or you will pay double for it. As for food stamps and unemployment, God forbid that you ever have to use them. I would hate for you to have to get in the real world and have to stoop down to the level that unemployed people have. Unless you are some retired know it all that is drawing some sort of pension then you are just like the rest of us. One paycheck away from unemployment. Don't be so smug.

Apparently ppl have not taken the time to really study the situation. If you think that passing this healthcare bill is the answer you are sadly mistaken. If there are no jobs...then eventually the government will not have the funds to continue, well maybe some more of China's money can keep it a float. Look at the whole picture. I have several conditions that makes me uninsurable to the insurance companies but, I still do not think this is the answer.

This is interesting. How many of you can afford this? http://republicans.waysandmeans.house.gov/New... You think the jails are over crowded now, wait and see what happens if this passes. Hopefully the senate will be more responsible.

Everyone of us could have a spin doctor to tell us the sky is falling. That giant sucking sound you hear (Thanks, Ross Perot) is the sound of the money grubbers you-know-whats puckering because they won't have ocntrol of health care anymore and they can't decide who lives and who dies.

Do a check on who took money from Insurance companies, Bart Gordon voted no on health bill but the insurance co,gave him over $1.6. Million Dollars. Most republicans have took Billions of Dollars to keep any health care program from being passed, But continue to find money that bush started because of a lie and cost the taxpayers Trillions of dollars. But republicans are all warmongers. and want all for themselves. Time to replace all office holders, and Bart Gordon.

So if reform isn't the answer, what is the answer when you are too poor to afford to buy insurance and too rich to quaify for tenncare? Getting a different job is not an option at this time so don't say get a better job. And don't say get rid of the internet.... 24 dollars a month won't buy insurance. Just suffer then go off and die I guess.

Yes, we need health care reform. But please read the bill. We do not need this reform bill. It will kill us. Lets get it right this time. Lets get a reform bill that will help all of us. I agree we need health care. I can not get health insurance, but I am against this reform. Read it totally. This bill is not a reform that we need. Leave the Republicans and Democrats out of it and listen to what this reform bill is going to do to us. We need a different reform.

I am like some of the rest of you. I can not get insurance at all. I don't get food stamps, welfare, or anything else. But I still don't think we need the bill that Obama is wanting to pass. We need healthcare reform, but not what he wants. Any government run program ends up a desaster. I think until the congress and senate has the same healthcare as we do, it want get amy better. They just do whatever it takes to get re-elected. Bottom line; we are in a hell of a mess.
