Too much, too soon, too little "transparency".

ObamaCare wouldn't even kick in until 2013, why not pass (or not) a little bit at a time? Put it into manageble chunks that eliminate (or at least reduce) the amount of doublespeak, loopholes, and earmarks.

Colorado Wants Special Tuition Class For Illegal Aliens

ViewDiscussion.Last Updated: Fri, 10/16/2009 - 12:17pm

Months after the Colorado Legislature rejected a measure to grant illegal immigrants discounted tuition at public colleges and universities, Democrats continue working on a soon-to-be-introduced bill to make it happen.

In April Colorado lawmakers killed—for the fourth time—a proposal that would have allowed illegal aliens to pay lower in-state tuition at the state’s 30 public colleges and universities. It was a contentious plan that was debated on the Senate floor for more than three hours before lawmakers, including several Democrats, finally defeated it.

This week a group of Colorado Democrats reveal they’ve been ardently working behind the scenes to tweak the defeated law so that it passes. Their plan centers on the creation of a special tuition category for illegal immigrants that attempts to disguise the taxpayer-financed perk granted to the state’s legal residents.

Since illegal immigrants don’t qualify for the subsidy given to the children of parents who pay state taxes, tens of millions of dollars will be allocated for the new illegal alien tuition class. That way, the law’s sponsors say, illegal immigrants don’t have to pay the much higher out-of-state fees. Either way it’s presented, the money comes from U.S. taxpayers.

One of the law’s sponsors, Senator Paula Sandoval, says the third tuition rate is a compromise that will avoid the pitfalls of four previous failed attempts at passing legislation. The House sponsor, Denver Representative Joe Miklosi, says the measure will “empower” the state’s undocumented high school graduates.

Ten states—including California, Texas, Utah, Kansas, Washington and New York—have laws granting illegal immigrants discounted college tuition and a few—Georgia, Oklahoma and Arizona—have recently created policies banning the perk. The practice was successfully challenged by a group of out-of-state students in California who argued that the state’s college system violated the law by charging them higher tuition and fees than undocumented immigrants. A California appellate court ruled in favor of the American students and the case is pending before the sate Supreme Court.

If lawyers and frivolous lawsuits are reined in, that would significantly reduce medical costs. Any legislation that does not address this is USELESS. Also, legislators AND voters must be given time to read the bill. NO VOTE without time to read through it and discuss it thoroughly!

Just the way it's being rammed down our throats when clearly the majority does not want this, tells you something. There is an agenda and it not in America's favor. 2010 is the year of we will work hard to bring things back to the center.

Also,
"Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United
States that does not apply equally to the Senators or Representatives,
and Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators or
Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the
United States."

Our friends in Washington won't use the same system they are feeding us!!! This is an American issue!!!!

Also, we need to be able to buy healthcare from other states...let it be an open market, which will drive cost down because of competition. Remember, healthcare is just SOME of the issues OB is eyeballing.

ELECTING A GOVERNOR IN 2010

NEEDED: A REVOLUTION OF THE INDIVIDUAL STATES

We need a revolution of the individual states: to reclaim their sovereignty and fight for the liberties of their sovereigns (We the People). That is exactly what our forefathers did in ‘76.

America’s founding document (the Declaration of Independence) declares that our states are “free and independent.” And so they are. We are not “one nation” with one all-powerful central government. We are a confederation of nation-states, united in a voluntary union, with each State reserving to itself the power and authority of self-determination, and ceding to the federal government limited, specifically delineated duties and limitations–limitations that have been totally ignored to the point that, for all intents and purposes, our once-great Constitutional Republic has been thoroughly expunged. Therefore, it is NOW time for the states to stand up to this meddlesome, every-growing tyranny that is known as Washington, D.C., and defend the rights and liberties of their citizens!

What Dr. Ed Vieira (an attorney with 4 earned degrees from Harvard, who has successfully argued cases before the US Supreme Court) wrote a few weeks ago should serve as a template for every State governor and legislature that truly cares about liberty. See Ed’s column at:

http://www.newswithviews.com/Vieira/edwin201....

As Vieira says, the states should resurrect their militias. Many–if not all–states have the legal authority for such entities in their constitutions. In some states they are called the State Guard. Some plainly use the word “militia.” Whatever they are called, they need to be activated. And all that is necessary for this to be accomplished is the order of the governor. It’s that simple!

And as Vieira said, states need to adopt an alternative currency–including, and most especially, gold and silver. In other words, they need to develop their own private economies, complete with their own banks and exchange mediums. They also need to reject the multinational agribusiness and develop their own in-State agricultural and energy businesses.

I would dare say that the first State that determines to follow Vieira’s sagacious counsel (and rumblings of this have already begun in states such as Alaska, Oklahoma, Texas, Montana, New Hampshire, Indiana, Tennessee, South Carolina, etc.) would have so many liberty-loving patriots flock there that its economy would explode with prosperity–resulting in a domino effect of many other states following suit–and the revolution that this country so desperately needs would indeed take place. Furthermore, such a revolution would be constitutional, lawful, moral, and, yes, in compliance with the laws of Nature and of Nature’s God.

It is obvious We have work to do to NOW to maintain our Freedoms for ourselves, our family members and our fellow citizens.

WE MUST BE CAREFUL TO ELECT A GOVERNOR THAT WILL LISTEN TO U.S. CITIZENS AND PROTECT THE SAFETY OF OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS BY SAYING ‘NO’ TO THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.
