Lets say I'm 63 years old male. I weigh 485 lbs, Diabetic. I have a congenital heart condition from rheumatic fever as a child. I have high blood pressure and renal disease. I have a history of alcoholism. Obama says I should find reasonable priced insurance.

That sounds great. Now can this administration take control of private auto insurance? My neighbor is also an alcoholic with poor vision. Why should he have to pay higher premiums just because he's had 5 DUIs and a few accidents with injuries. He shouldn't be denied a safety net.

Insurance companies are not required to protect your health. They are there to protect your wallet.

I feel it would hurt health care in the U.S. and increase costs so much as to force the gov. into increasing taxes to an unbearable level. There is so much corruption and waste in Medicare and Medicaid that to suggest that all of that corruption and waste would suddenly go away is ridiculous. I believe that we as a nation have a moral obligation to care for those who cannot care for themselves but this health care proposal has so many versions that no one really knows what is being proposed. I want health care reform. I just don't think this is it. Show just one thing that the government has taken over and successfully administered and I will reconsider my opinion.

This is a fun one.
1st The overweight guy probably doesn't even know what insurance is. He's too busy looking for the next buffet.
2nd The DUI driver doesn't need auto insurance. It has been taken away from him.
3rd The insurance companies, the ones we have today, agreeably are not required to protect your health but they obviously are looking at TAKING your wallet, not protect it.

Do we really have 39 million people in this country that doesn't get healthcare?? That is amazing. The most powerful country in the world and we can't even take care of our own people. We should be ashamed of ourselves.

Because something needs to be done. No matter what, any change will at least shake the boat up.

This is much needed. The uninsured get screwed with the costs which cause them to lose everything that they have. Most insurance pays only 25-35% of the total billed charge. Uninsured people are expected to pay 100% or go into collection and then arbitration. Why not just charge what the service is worth? The system becomes efficient and the fees will probably get paid by a higher percentage of those who are uninsured.

Most health care systems are a ponzi scheme anyway trying to milk the system for as much cash as possible. It has very little to do with quality of care. That is my opinoion based on over $100,000 of health charges for very little service. The issue was resloved, but in a very inefficient manner. By the way, the insurance only payed out about $31k. What is up with the $100k?

Daily Horoscope for January 2

Capricorn

Self deception will be the main issue today. You may be judging your situation wrongly: don't hold back, say what you think diplomatically and without being hurtful. This should result in a positive mental outlook for you. Competitive sports activity will ease any stress or tension.
