There are better solutions to the health care issue... find them. This bill will be a disaster to fund and will fail. All government programs generally do.

This is a manufactured "crisis." More than half of the legitimately unisured could afford coverage if they wanted it. Most of the rest simply reproduced because it felt good without any regard as to how to make a living or pay for their children. As for most of the country that has insurance coverage, we are happy with the system by and large. Minor frustrations dealing with claims are an annoyance but much better than long wait lists and outright rationing. It would be appropraiate to take employers out of the picture as providers of insurance and allow real competion and individual ownership of health insurance policies. Obama's plan is too much government interference and far too costly - much more money for less quality and less quantity of care. Obama does lie and people will die.

Socialized medicine is NOT the government's job in a non-socialist country.

Say what you will about this particular bill, but you are an idiot if you do not believe we desperately need some sort of healthcare reform in this country. We spend more on healthcare per person than all other developed countries combined, yet we have a lower average life expectancy than 29 countries. If looking at this system from a purely business-related standpoint, it is clearly a failed one.

First of all the life expectancy disparity is measured in months, not years. Secondly, our national consumption of liquor, Big Macs, tobacco, processed foods, etc. is not something that any change in the health care system will have an impact on. And third, if you get employers out of the business of providing insurance for employees and let people buy insurance across state lines, the market will bring prices down.

We are the only industrialized country where you can lose everything just because you get sick. Other countries laugh at us. 70% of all personal bankruptcies are due to medical bills. (We like to blame it on credit cards but if you see what is charged it's medical bills.) I don't have the answer but something needs to change.

Hey Steve, who laughs at us? Sure, we elected the bufoon, B. Hussein Obama. Anybody can make a huge mistake. However, we survived Peanut Carter and Slick Willie. We will be fine.

Who is going to pay for all the new mandates that are proposed? The best way to reform the system is to allow purchasing of insurance across state lines, provide tax deductions for the individual purchase of insurance and stop paying for health care services for illegal aliens.

Amos, I traveled a lot when I was in the Navy and everyone I met in Canada, Europe and Australia thought it was shameful that in our country it's ok to take a little old widow who paid her taxes all her life to court and take away all her possessions and money just because she got sick. This is the only place where it's legal to do that. It happens to a lot of us veterans too even after we've risked our lives to defend our country. I have a couple of bullet hole scars myself. Like I said, I don't know what the answer is but it needs to change.

Steve, I traveled a lot when I was in the Marine Corps. By the way, thanks for the ride. Everyone I met was anxious to know how they could get to America because they all new it was a much better place to be than their homelands. Little old widows are eligible for medicare so they should nver find themselves in court with their possessions at risk. If this somehow happened, however, the bankruptcy laws would wipe out their debt and they would be allowed to keep their possessions and some of their bank accounts. The VA will take care of your medical needs if you do not have insurance. What needs to change is for the corrupt politicians to stay the hell out of the free market. People who have health insurance mostly get it through their employer and the whole health insurance system is set up to cater to that arrangement. Why is that, you ask? Because when FDR had wage and price controls in place a loophole was created whereby employers could provide medical insurance to employees in lieu of raises. This benefit was not condsidered wages and it was not taxed. It was a bad idea then and the root of the problem with health insurance today. If you buy insurance for yourself and your family, you pay taxes on the money you pay for premiums. Sound fair? No, it is politics which is never fair. Obama recently changed the number of uninsured people in this country from 47 million to 30 million because he decided to stop inclunding illegal aliens in his count. Now of that 30 million, over half could afford to buy insurance but they prefer to buy booze and cigarettes and whatever instead. So, in reality we only have a little more that 10 millon left. Many of those people are already eligible for SCHIP or Medicaid or some other existing program but are too ignorant or too lazy to enroll. The remaining few would not be that hard to take care of. We do not need the Great Prophet Obama to take over the entire health care industry. All he wants is the power it would give him.

Easy health care reform would be to STOP

Military Chemtrail operations
Vaccination
Amalgam
Fluoridation
Chlorine and ammonia
GMO
Artificial sweetners
Prescription drugs

These few simple steps alone would revitalize human health and save taxpayers trillions.
