in the absence of a public option, it is unconstitutional to force citizens to buy a product/service from a PRIVATE COMPANY.

We are already paying the bill and have been for years. The healthcare industry's concern has been revenue -- they need to think about health and care.

Every American should have the right to healthcare its just plain simple. How can we call ourselves a country of god when we deny something as fundamental as health and make it available to an elite portion of the population.Society should look out for those unfortunate enough to to afford healthcare it's the patriotic thing to do just like our soldiers do for us they don't pick and choose who they protect they protect us all!
When Jesus laid his hands on the crippled and the sick did he ask for their insurance card first...I don't think so

Let's TRY free-market solutions before we create a TRILLION DOLLAR Entitlement program that's going to simply give the govt more money and power.

There is NO tort reform that is responsible for between 20-22 percent of the inflated medical bills. Howard dead said it is impossible as the Democratic Party is controlled by trial lawyers.

What about all these clowns 25-40 or so years old that live in gyms in the day, live 5 or more to a house with maybe some woman they have popped with a kid or two and play basketball and if they are motivated enough work part time. As a retiree I see them all the time in the gym I go to and they are talking about playing a game in the early evening after they work out and go home for a lunch. This is no joke. The police officers I see in the gym talk about the calls they get and all these people renting a home and watching TV in the middle of the day. Healthy body men and women who pool their money together and get food stamps maybe workers comp and are dregs on society.

To pay for the $&(*(^ to hatch kids and not work. BS!!!

Besides if this health plan is so great then why has NO repeat NO Senator or Representative elected to sign up on it but rather stay with their "gold plated" plan that pays for them and their family long after they have retired?

Action talks BS walks!!!!

I feel anytime the government is involved it costs way too much. I lived in Canada before and you paid more in taxes for poorer quality care than you pay for insurance here.

You are very right on. Worked in a public assistance office for years and the amount of able bodied men and women 20s, 30s and 40s that do not work and are looking for a handout are unreal. Why should we pay for them when they do not even attempt to find work?

i don't understand why people don't support the President's plan, i mean don't you want it to be illegal for a company to drop cause simply cause you got sick? American's shouldn't go broke paying medical bills, American's shouldn't die simply because they don't have money, and people oppose this? wow

Insurers enjoy record 2006 with 63.7 billion in profits
From the Sun Sentinel Newspaper April 17, 2007 page 1 Business Section.
The nation’s property/casualty insurers collected record profits in 2006, a year after suffering record hurricane losses, industry groups reported Wednesday.
The industry's net income rose $ 63.7 billion in 2006 up from $ 44.2 billion in 2005 according to ISO, a risk information service, and Property Casualty Insurers Association of America, an industry trade group.

After Katrina and Wilma payouts they earned record profits.

What in the Hell are they earning now with much smaller pay out over the last several years? Remember most all insurance companies do not only property but medical, auto, homeowners, business owners, etc. So they are not hurting for money just raping the public.

I hear where the Obama Bill (which I am opposed to) wants to make insurance companies use 80 percent of their profits for medical care. In the past they have used much less and just sock the money away for investment. If they see they are going to come up with less than that percentage of profit they just jack it to the public.

The working man and woman is getting screwed from both sides.

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Aquarius

Keep calm and all will be well. You're feeling slightly fraught because there are so many demands on your time, and it won't help if you're trying to juggle some last-minute chores with some fun-filled social events. Get others to lend you a hand, or tell yourself that perfection is not an option right now and that you'll have to scale down your preparations accordingly.
