To check Insurance Costs:
1 Expand HSAs & deregulate Catastrophic Insurance. People then control their own primary care & have many options for Catastrophic.
2 Eliminate state limitations & employer-based coverage. I want to buy my insurance anywhere and keep it.

To Reduce Costs in general:
3. Reform litigation (i.e. Mississippi. Insurance costs way down just from that.)
4. Put resources into eliminating Fraud & Abuse.(Medicare is such an efficient check-writing program, abuse is rampant and must be added to the overhead.)

Anonymous,
I agree with darn near all of it. Eventually I would like to see the Health Ins. Co.s business/profits/need reduced DRASTICALLY.

A "public option" would be a nice way to do it....for starters.

No more taxes.
No forcing incurance companies to insure against events which have *already* happened (pre-existing conditions)

You cant buy fire insurance for your house if its already burned down, why do you think you should get to buy 'sickness' insurance if YOU'RE ALREADY SICK?

No new taxpayer-funded free healthcare!

You can't buy fire insurance on your house if its already burned down, why should an insurance company be forced to sell 'sickness' insurance to people who are already sick?

Doesn't matter...
IF, health care was REALLY the issue, It would be simple to create a plan.
Its about control.

Only dipshits, socialists and angry liberals support the currant plan

"You cant buy fire insurance for your house if its already burned down, why do you think you should get to buy 'sickness' insurance if YOU'RE ALREADY SICK?"

That's true. So eliminate insurance, if insurance is standing in the way of people getting care. Oh, it's not? The poorest are already getting good care? Something is wrong then.

Goose- you're right, and it shouldn't be. Something playing with your life shouldn't be capitalist. Everything else, fine. But not that. I'm sure if your mom was inflicted with cancer and not covered as an elder, you'd have something to say about it.

WTF, you're right, the current plan sucks. That's why we're trying to change it. I think you meant something else?

I'm still holding my breath for the great Republican plan. See, the trick is to pretend you support change so that you don't anger the masses. When it comes time to step it up, simply attack the other side. Good plan.

I will buy into a national health care system, when the representatives and senators relinquish their present system and subject themselves to the same health care they require us to have.

I will buy into a national health care system when all the senators and representatives surrender their present system and enroll in the system they pass for us.

Until then .......... forget it.

If it is good enough for us, it should be good enough for them.

Psssssst .......... I don't see any of them signing up for it yet. Do you? What does that tell you?
