medicare seems to work well, so, i assume that an expansion of the program to cover all would also work. the insurance companies would not like this, but, hey.

Medicare may be working now, but after Obama implements his "Savings" plan which consists mostly of new lower reimbursement schedules, it will go downhill. Last May the NY Times ran a story about the trend of less and less physicians taking on Medicare patients because of low reimbursements and tedious paperwork.

Sounds like my Aetna coverage. Pay through the azz so they can deny coverage while boosting CEO salaries through the roof. Your death panels are already here. It's the group of pencil pushers at the insurance companies with the big red stamp that reads "DENIED".

This Republic will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not. With that your assertion is correct that Medical Care as an industry needs overhauled. I would submit that you two are the ones whining to our Government that they need to trample on the rights of everyone else for your sake. A truly free society would have true competition and therefore naturally lower medical costs for routine care. This in turn would negate the need for insurance except catastrophic care. Catastrophic care could be low payments with high coverage amounts like current life insurance. Your position is well understood, however you are attempting to have Obama and our Federal Government fix the symptom not the disease. Further where in our Constitution does it say the Federal Government can even entertain these ideas of expansion of powers, regulation and law? It does not and Health care is not a Federal issue, it is outside Constitutional authority. If you want to live in a country that is Socialist in nature and not a Republic, pack your bags and get out!

I wonder where Palozie gets her figures that "70 % of the people" want the public option? She should take a look on a nationwide forum like this one....according this poll, 2 out o 3 oppose this mess of a healthcare plan. I certainly don't trust the gov't to take more of our hard earned money and blow it. If they can pay for this plan from the savings of fraud and waste from medicaire, then they should do that now and prove themselves before implimenting more problems.
who's gonna pay for all of this...
Just ask that giant reinsurance company, the taxpayers.

Whenever a company has too much status to fail, we will be there.
But if we are injured, we will get help from hospitals only on their terms.

Let me fill you in on something. Right now, you still have a CHOICE. you can, a) stop paying b)find a new carrier c) get over it d) support REAL reform and competition along state lines. not another government takeover

this bill passes you will have no choice 15,000$ a year and jail if you dont pay.

god bless amerika

I have no choice of carriers. I'm at the mercy of my employer and whatever insurance company they choose. Maybe I should stop paying for it and show up at the emergency room for every sniffle and leave the bill to teabaggers like you. We have plenty of money to enrich the already wealthy, but not one dime to keep the population healthy.

I M Fleeced - Do you only have issue with insurance companies CEO comensations? Do you real;ly think thats why health care is soooo expensive? Take a look at the numbers and get back to me. Do you get mad when you fill up your tank knowing how much the CEO's at Exon make? Same for GE or Geico?

Well I have a revelation for you, bow down, its a big one. You my friend, are an American. And just like every other american you have the choice, and the free will to make a life for you and your own.

Now show some personal responsibility and stop complaining about your problems. FIX THEM

Don't look to the government for a handout, you are not a lobbyist showering them with money and other crap.

IMO, you are making yourself out to be the EXACT stereotype of a liberal, want everyone else to pay your way, you blame the "wealthy" as they have some burden to you, and you make a reference to a sexual act trying to marginalize a legitimate movement thats like nothing before. A CONSERVATIVE protest. I know you as a lib, get a little scared about the patriots moving on your holy protest ground, but buddy, your imperial wanna be nanny state will not last long....

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Libra

Don't put yourself through anything that isn't absolutely necessary, Libra. After all, why cook when others will gladly serve you at their house, or treat you to a wonderful meal at your favourite restaurant? Even when you assert yourself, there seems to be a wonderfully passive quality to your manner. Now that the universe has finally decided to give you some of what you want, make sure your wish list is short and don't be greedy.
