In a country as wealthy as ours...I think it is a shame that we do not have adequate health care, when we continue to pay taxes for everything else. Also, I think the health care and drug industry are too corrupt as it is...change is a must.

Corrupt? How so?

-Would you prefer to wait months for a hip replacement or an MRI? That is what is coming if the gov. takes over health care. Don't beleive me, look at Canada and Western Europe's gov. run health care systems. Rationing, death panels, shortages of doctors and nurses. You want that?

-If you walk in to Claiborne Co. Hospitals ER you will be treated, how is that not adequate? TN Care will cover about anyone in the state for nothing or near nothing.

-Do you want drug companies researching and developing new, life saving drugs, if so leave them alone. It takes tens of millions of dollars to research, develop, test, get approval and market a new drug. Let the gov. take this over and there will be no more research.

Obama has no idea what is going on. He wants to euthanize the elderly. If you go to the ER, the nurse has to call egypt to see if you get can be admitted. they also tell us how long the patient can stay.

Price is too high in too many ways. Who knows what all is hidden in those nearly two thousand pages? Not the ones voting for it because they haven't even read it.

Our hospitals, including Claiborne County is on the verge of bankruptcy, because not so sick people downfalls. You must be a typical Republican.
You don't know what shape you might get in...one day.
I knew a lawyer once, who lobbied against the people...because he thought it was right...his wife left him and his kids hated him and he lost everything, and lost his affections.

How about two thousand years? Jan/nor Suzy.
I'm not simple/as you. I did not understand that early on, but I do now. Who the hell are you? And who cares. Damned, I wish I knew then, what I didn't know then.
My moma was good but not explanatory,as I am with mine. Why would I associate my kids(them)with you? Such is life/crazy.

"Our hospitals, including Claiborne County is on the verge of bankruptcy, because not so sick people downfalls.

-Actually CCH is NOT on the verge of bankruptcy at all. They had a down couple of yrs. mainly because of inept management by Mercy, they couldn't get or keep an administrator and the county mayor was to busy playing political games instead of doing what was right for the hospital. Otherwise they have a pretty good future unless this health care bill passes, then it and a lot of small hospitals will be shut down.

You must be a typical Republican.
You don't know what shape you might get in...one day.

-I never claimed to be a political anything. Independent would be the best description as both parties currently do not represent the people in any way shape or form. If I am a typical republican as you say would that make you a leftist socialist? You seem to want to give anything and everything to anyone. Your the one who started making assumptions.

-I have been flat on my back for 4 months in a hospital, don't go down a road you know nothing about. You deal with it, pay your bills and keep getting back up again and again. If you want to stay down, live off the gov. and other people you can, but to get back up and want more in life and earning it through hard work and discipline is the America I know, not being a human parasite.

I knew a lawyer once, who lobbied against the people...because he thought it was right...his wife left him and his kids hated him and he lost everything, and lost his affections. "

-How do you lobby against the people? Who are the people you speak of? Is there a special code one must meet to become one of the people? Are the people entitled to everything they or you think they want of desire? Why are these people you speak of any different than any other working citizen?

HR 3962 Affordable Health Care for America Act
1. Creates a public health insurance OPTION and a national exchange for the uninsured and small businesses to purchase health insurance. The Secretary of Health and Human Services would NEGOTIATE rates with doctors and hospitals on reimbursement rates.
2. The bill includes mandates for individuals to purchase and businesses to provide health insurance or pay a fine. Individual penalty is 2.5 percent of gross income unless they get a waiver. Businesses that don't offer insurance pay a fine equal to 8 percent of their payroll. Businesses with a payroll of less than $500,000 are EXEMPT from the mandate.
3. Insurance companies are PROHIBITED from DENYING COVERAGE based on a PRE-EXISTING condition. There are caps on deductibles and annual out of pocket spending is capped at $5000.
4. ELIMINATES the Medicare DOUGHNUT HOLE over ten years.
5. Allows individuals up to 27-years-old to stay on their parent’s health insurance
6. Expands Medicaid from 100 percent to 150 percent of the Federal Poverty Level.
7. Provides tax subsidies for individuals between 150 and 400 percent (sliding scale) of the Federal Poverty Level. There are also tax subsidies for SMALL BUSINESSES.
8. As amended, it PROHIBITS FEDERAL FUNDS FROM COVERING ABORTIONS. Women would need to purchase riders to insurance purchased on the exchange if they wanted that coverage.
9. The bill taxes individuals making MORE THAN $500,000 and $1 million for couples. It is a 5.4 percent tax.
10. Reduces overpayments to doctors who treat Medicare Advantage patients. It is estimated they are paid 14 percent more than doctors who treat Medicare patients.

-How will they be able to negotiate with the doctors and hospitals, they don't now under Medicare and Medicaid, they come in and say this is what we are paying end of discussion so this is a fantasy and will result in prices skyrocketing.

-How can the federal gov. Constitutionally force anyone to do this? What do you think the businesses are going to do. They are going to pay the 8% fine and dump their private coverage asap. You also forgot to mention that if you absolutely refuse to purchase this insurance you can be jailed up to 5 yrs.

3. Insurance companies are PROHIBITED from DENYING COVERAGE based on a PRE-EXISTING condition. There are caps on deductibles and annual out of pocket spending is capped at $5000.

-Most insurance policies now have out of pocket and deductible caps already. And you can get insurance for pre-existing conditions if you are willing to pay the premiums they charge.

4. ELIMINATES the Medicare DOUGHNUT HOLE over ten years.

-Right, the gov. eliminating a program, when is the last time besides in a defense budget this ever happened??????????

5. Allows individuals up to 27-years-old to stay on their parent’s health insurance

-Why? By that age they should be out and on their own already. Most insurance companies already provide for college student status up to about age 24.

6. Expands Medicaid from 100 percent to 150 percent of the Federal Poverty Level.

-In other words you move the goal line, you just tell more people, hey we consider you poor now, come sign up.

7. Provides tax subsidies for individuals between 150 and 400 percent (sliding scale) of the Federal Poverty Level. There are also tax subsidies for SMALL BUSINESSES.

-If your business is run as an LLC, which most are you are screwed with this plan.

8. As amended, it PROHIBITS FEDERAL FUNDS FROM COVERING ABORTIONS. Women would need to purchase riders to insurance purchased on the exchange if they wanted that coverage.

-This will last about 30 seconds and we will all be funding abortions, even obama wants to go back and look at this according to his own statements. Yes including the barbaric partial birth abortions which makes the Taliban look civilized.

9. The bill taxes individuals making MORE THAN $500,000 and $1 million for couples. It is a 5.4 percent tax.

-Why? Why do they have to pay more taxes. They already pay more federal income tax that 95% of all taxpayers combined. Why are they punished for success?

10. Reduces overpayments to doctors who treat Medicare Advantage patients. It is estimated they are paid 14 percent more than doctors who treat Medicare patients.

-Are you kidding! I know some doctors who won't even see a medicare or medicaid patient because their reimbursement rates are so pathetic and you are going to cut them further? Good luck on keeping doctors if you think they went to all the school and took out loans to be paid nothing and still keep working you are not being serious.

I worked for AT&T for many years/in Louisville/Nashville/Oregan,an d California...I knew a lawyer who lobbied against health care. He was later in a car wreck and ran out of money. Prior to that,he lobbied and fought for a $500,000 cap on health care. He lost his house his wife/children and is now in a wheelchair. Needless to say, he regrets what he did.
The facts are this, more people lose everything, because of health care bills. That is the number one reason people lose everything (bankruptcy.)
FDR (a democrat) was accused of being a socialist with the CC'S,Dams,Social Security,FDIC,etc.etc.Selfishn ess, and allowing the poor to do without is not biblical,as many so called Christians propose, that we are such(biblical,)especially when we are a rich nation!

Not all working Citizen's have healthcare! I do...because I earned it.
I chose to work for a Corporation, that provided it (healthcare and long-term care and whatever else I need,)and for the rest of my life. My education and I.Q.gave me that opportunity...not everyone has that opportunity, and for that I consider myself lucky, and I also consider myself fortunate. Personally,I'd rather give than recieve.

I refuse to be made to feel guilty for not wanting to arbitrarily hand over my wallet to people such as you who think you are entitled to help yourself to my hard earned money in order to placate your personal feelings of guilt or to fund whatever personal crusade you happen to be pushing for the day. If you want to hand over your paycheck to assuage some false induced guilt trip do it, but you didn't earn mine so hands off!

-I am not a republican but this woman scares the living crap out of liberals everywhere. Why? If she is some ignorant and stupid as you claim why the continued attacks, it doesn't make sense. Are you listening to her or the state run media attacks?

-Would all the vile and venom thrown at her and her family be tolerated for one second if she were a liberal or black?

-Listen to the person and make your judgments, not what the state run media tells you, they are clearly biased.

-Again, if she is so ignorant why the hysterical fear that she strikes in liberals, this is not logical.

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Libra

Don't put yourself through anything that isn't absolutely necessary, Libra. After all, why cook when others will gladly serve you at their house, or treat you to a wonderful meal at your favourite restaurant? Even when you assert yourself, there seems to be a wonderfully passive quality to your manner. Now that the universe has finally decided to give you some of what you want, make sure your wish list is short and don't be greedy.
