Gov't health care is not needed. I am adult enough to know how to get health care and those who are not need to grow up.

I do not believe the government can run health care. The government has screwed up social security and medicare. The people of america did not do it, but the government did. I do not trust the government to take care of me. No other country government around the world has made health care work and I trust our government even less. Look for a way to help the needed people and stay away from my health care. I don't want to see anyone suffer under the government health care like other countrys have.

One big step closer to taking over our lives. Globule warming scam will finish it off. I'm glad I'm older and don't have to put up with much of this crap when the government takes our lives over. I feel sorry for the young people of the world who voted obama in. now you will see what what you have done when your about 40 or 50 years old and you have a camera on you where ever you go and told by the government what you can and can not do. Democrats your days in office are numbered when elections come around because you who voted for this bill, the smart people will remember your names. Thanks for ramming this bill down our throats dems..

All you folks there in Greensboro can thank our puppet Senator Kay Hagan for her support of the Dems instead of the People of North Carolina. Will she meet face-to-face with you over the break and before January 19th to explain her vote and behavior? I bet not. She's a coward.

As I am advocating, do not be concerned oover the party a candidate is affiliated with but be concerned whether said candidate is Socialist or Constitutionalist. One cannot be both, only one or the other. We must elect people regardless of party affiliation who are totally 100 % Constitutionalist, one who believes the governing of this great country should be Constitutionally. Check out their voting records and if they have never been to D.C. as an elected official, find out what they believe in. Don't serve them up to Washington carte blanche but find out their ingredients. BHO got to the WH, the majority of the voters not knowing who or what. Cast your vote in a dignified manner knowing who or what you are voting for before you cast the ballot. It's rough on all of us you finding out after you cast your ballot. Have a merry Christmas.

I'm not going to pretend that I fully understand the structure of our government, however, why can't they use the K.I.S.S. method of making healthcare for all a possibility...keep it simple stupid. Do I think everyone needs healthcare? Of course.

My thoughts are to keep Medicare (for 65 & older and veterans) and Medicaid (for all others). Medicare should be paid with existing money that the government already has by cutting out all the pork spending. Structure Medicaid to be paid for with taxes & payment plans based on income. If you pay no taxes, then you get NO coverage (This takes care of illegals taking advantage of our system). If someone makes the poverty level or below of income, then they don't pay for their coverage. Each income bracket pays a little more for their plan, but not the enormous fees that private insurance companies charge now. Let the doctors do what they need to so that every patient gets the care that they need, but at the same time reduce the charges on things such as CT scans & MRI's. I know these machines are expensive, but they shouldn't try to recoup the cost in a short period of time. And last but not least, no cap on how much can be spent per lifetime on care. That is complete BS for someone like southern mom.

I'm lucky that my employer still pays a percentage of my healthplan. But I still pay $150 a month and visit my doctor on average of three times a year. So why can't my total of $2400 a year for coverage be used more effectively? My average bills prior to coverage total about $600 a year...the rest I consider wasted money. Because it's not banked year after year should something happen to me and I need more care.

They really need to get their act together in Washington. I will be looking extra hard at all the candidates I'm eligible to vote for at the next election.

the reason prices for medicines is so high is government subsidizing. Why should the pharmaceutical companies get 35 dollars for a bottle of medicine from us when they can get 350 dollars for the same bottle of medicine from the government, the consumer paying 6 dollars for the bottle of medicine and the government paying the remaining 344 dollars for a 35 dollar bottle of medicine? The government is the cause of high medicine and anything to do with the medical profession, not the insurance companies. Everyone should definitely check the records of all candidates they vote for and not vote party affiliation but vote who is the best for me.

If and when the healthcare bill becomes law in this land, here is what the people of North Carolina should do. They should contact their state representatives and have the state invoke Nullification as granted by the 10th Amendment. Whenever a state nullifies a federal law, it is proclaiming that the law in question is void and inoperative or non-effective, within the boundaries of that state, not a law as far as that state is concerned. The 10th Amendment Movement is an effort to push back against unconstitutional federal laws and regulations on a state level. The principle is known as Nullification and was advised by many prominent founders. Arizona and some other states have said they are going to invoke Nullification in their respective states and North Carolina needs to do the same. Have a good day.

Since most of this healthcare reform doesn't go into effect until 2014 & no actual monies have been spent, then why not support the principles of the policy. Plenty of time to tweak it so that cost don't increase for healthcare insurance, people are given affordable options, and the healthcare act doesn't add to the national deficit and remain deficit neutral as President Obama with the help of the non-partisan OMB committee has stated it must be. The arguments about "socialized" medicine is another fear & loathing red-herring. Those underinsured or not insured will have options to choose from a pool insurance policies. The one thing I probably against is the mandate that everyone have a healthcare insurance policy, but I don't like the idea that I have to pay for someone without insurance everytime they end up in emergency room because that means I have to pay for that visit! If the government can subsidized the hospital for that visit that would be better, but only as long as they have the money to pay for it! And as an aside note, doctors and physicians should be paid a salary not fee per service basis. How many times have you gone into your doctors office for a routine examination and end up being subjected or at least suggested for tests or referrals for things you don't need? This is some of the reasons why some people's insurance don't fully cover these tests and end up paying more out-of-pocket than they expected! Highly skilled doctors, specialists are exceptions to fee per service, but a general physician should not be getting rich off of you. They are there to do no harm and promote prevention & care, not because being a doctor is a lucrative career.
