Freedom comes with a price. That means I must pay my way. I should not depend on others to tell me I must pay for me and some one who will not pay for themselves. If I fall short then I fall short don't let me drag you down. That is my choice that is the price of freedom. I WANT FREEDOM NOT FREE

This so-called "Health Care Reform" is, in reality, an attempt to instigate Marxist/Communist Socialism into the United States as proposed by William Ayers who is the ideological source of Obama's political philosophy

You make choices in life. If you drop out of school it's not my obligation to support you. If you choose a job with no health care it's not my problem. I work hard for what I have and give to charity - my choice.

It is all about control. A government in control of its people will usher in a socialist society. The free people of US will become puppets, subjects. Much as happened in Europe in the 40's. Do you want to be free to make your own decisions? The change that this government is bringing is very dangerous.

I see some pretty amazing opinions expressed here. The problem is none of them are supported by any fact. Just opinion. Surely you can provide something to substantiate your views.
Opinion is just that...opinion.

I'll start.
Did you realize the plan is actually very popular? We currently have those that want to see a public option not backing the plan. Change the wording ever so slightly and the numbers change.
If Americans are asked to vote yes or terminate the plan the numbers jump significantly.

Got to tell ya how great health care really is in Canada! My son was year old and dying from a rare blood infection. 14 days in hospital. Cost $ 0.00.

My father in law quadruple bypass cost $0.00

Medications now for him small monthly fee of $50.00

Yes he is a senior citizen. There are no cut off dates for ages!

Friend of the family 81 years old. Hip replacement Cost $0.00
You Americans got to wake up. There is a better way and Health Care is good for all!

People simply refuse to see any positives in advancement of our society. It is much simpler to hold onto what you know than take a chance on the unknown.
Education can change peoples views....but they have to open their minds to create objective thinking.....most prefer hang onto what they know instead.

Thank you for taking such a strong stand against Socialism. We owe a lot to people like you, after all a man is only as good as his word and being against Socialism you will probably not be collecting Social Security when you are of age.It is an honor to see someone with such a strong belief against Socialism. This means we will have more funds in the treasury for the workers that will need these funds to live on.It takes a person with strong convictions against Socialism not to accept their SS checks. All of us hard working people appreciate your sacrifice.

His logic isn't supported by the facts. Governmental takeover of healthcare can only lead to more heavy handed government interfering where they don't belong.

Even if your were right on the Government interfering I would prefer them over "for profit" insurance companies denying care on laws passed through lobbying.

To Wanda: Get in the program, get educated.

There's a reason perps pick on the little guy. Individuals and small-business-sponsored health insurance is governed by state regulations, not federal, which offer greater consumer protection.(The feds keep an eye on the large-group insurance market).

In many states, insurers can deny individuals with pre-existing medical conditions. And if they do offer coverage, it comes at steep rates. As for small businesses, many can't afford to offer much in the way of health benefits. Just 45% of companies with three to nine workers offer them, according to the 2007 annual survey from the Kaiser Family Foundation; overall, some 60% of companies now offer health benefits, down from 69% in 2000. Meanwhile, the total number of uninsured Americans clocks in at roughly 47 million, or 16% of the U.S. population.

Choking health-care costs have individuals and entrepreneurs desperately scrambling for any relief--even into the waiting arms of scammers.

"Anytime you have an insurance need that is not met by the industry, it provides an arena for crooks to get involved," says Robert Brace, partner at Hollister & Brace, a Santa Barbara, Calif.-based law firm, who represented prosecutors against Employers Mutual, an unauthorized health-insurance company that defrauded thousands of health policyholders out of $30 million in unpaid claims. Last February, James Graf, architect of the scam, was sentenced to 25 years in prison and ordered to pay $20 million in restitution

The may issue becomes-- Individuals and small-business-sponsored health insurance is governed by state regulations.

Federal, offer greater consumer protection.
The free market will not protect you from scams.

There's no way to pay for it and there's not way I'm supporting mandated coverage.
