We are not a socialist country and we are sick and tired of Socialists trying to turn us into one. Obama needs to cool it and get rid of the communists that he has in the White House!!!!

You just dont understand do you June ?? we may have the best health care in the world but too many cant get to it and it ends up costing us taxpayers and insured much more than it should....

What do you think we have now ??? I have lived in Europe and public insurance with a private option works ..period ..

We already have a "public option" every insurance company is a "public option".. What ,, you think that your insurance premiums only go into your account?? No it doesnt ,, it goes into a pool ..if you are with BCBS then you have paid for me and I for you at one time or another.. You think that pool is only the healthy , correct weight, do not smoke population ,,no it isnt. Our insurance at NAS is currently paying for a co workers chemo while she's paid for my gall bladder surgery complications for the last 5 years .

Medicare lol what a joke,, these older folks worked all their lives for this and STILL need an additional policy to cover what medicare doesnt.. Plus at todays costs ,,2 weeks in ICU will wipe out everything they put into medicare all those years,, then guess what ?? YOU June are paying for it through YOUR medicare taxes taken out .

All the government sponsored is going to do is force the insurance companies to finally stop ripping peoople off and killing them by denying coverage for one reason or another. It will stop hospitals from going bankrupt, it will keep your precious insurance premiums down because they wont have to compensate for all the uninsured ..........

I do not see why people cannot understand it ..

Socialism is not a bad thing anyway .. I am an 8th gen Texan born right here but lived in a socialist country many years.. my quality of life was much better there.. It is always just a horrible grind here,, so many people in bad shape ,,this isnt supposed to be a third world country but it sure starting to look like one .

I don't support it, nor would I support anything else he introduces. Hopefully next year we can vote out of office all of the Senators and Congressmen who do vote for the bill.

Let's be clear and simple. The country is broke. I wish that everyone could have free healthcare, good housing, education, and nutrition. We simply cannot afford to expand further entitlements at this time.
Lastly another simple principle to live by.... When a person depends on someone else, or the government to help them, then prepared to be disappointed. The best action is to plan study and work hard to insure one's own needs and don't depend on the government.

Seaweed Socialism works fine as long as there is enough of other peoples money to pay for things. The problem is that socialism eats up the capital, innovation and motivation of private citizens. I think that it is highly likely that most people who like socialism are among those who get more stuff out than they put in.

This country has reached a point where most people do not pay any significant income tax. So of course this majority thinks more government programs and entitlements are great because they pay little or nothing for it.

Well I as a mid-six-figure income tax payer has been taxed enough. The new year will bring semi-retirement and I will voluntarily reduce my income by 75% at age 52. I have had it with this government that cannot control its appetite for spending taxpayer money.

Well that's not quitw true,, we too brought in right at 100,000 eu's per year in the Netherlands ,and I had a better quality of life there than I ever had here, the say that is a democracy but it isnt ,it is socialist , everyone shares there , it is not set up like here at all. We arent in the military , I am married to a dutch person. A democracy worked when there werent so many people here ,, like at the start of the country. I agree that it is broke .. but for more reasons than people just being on government programs..many times I have wondered if there are just too many people here period ,,hard to explain what I mean but still . Holland is not broke,, everyone went to school and work and started busineses and did the normal thing. No one's motivation went anywhere.. we still earn right over 100,000 USD here and I want to go back so badly I can't stand it. We are in our late 40's and we got so much better health care , there are no beggars , homeless , you dont have to live in the street or in a hell hole if you get sick or lose your job.. It is just more humane there.

Henry, your right. Obama and his followers dont give a damn about the constitution. I cant understand why people think our gov. can run healthcare when they cant even run the post office. Hell, I dont think I'd trust them with the task of running McDonalds for a day.
