Health insurance reform needs a private solution and available across state lines. Tort reform too.

50 million uninsured can't be left to do with out health insurance simply because some think that they would have to wait longer to see a doctor.

All citizens and legal residents should have the right to adequate health care.

The US Census does not claim that there are 50 million uninsured people in the US. They estimate approx. 11 million. I guess you are counting all the ILLEGAL ALIENS too. I do not believe we should pay for their health insurance. I think the money would be put to better use deporting them.

I got the 50 million figure from Dick Morris on the Bill O’Reilly show one night. He said 50 million newly insured people would crash the health care system. I think he felt those 50 million should just die so he could keep his access to the doctors. As Far as the illegals go, I think we should offer them free health care and as soon as they show up to use it deport them. After all, before they flooded Coldwater the unemployment rate was manageable; employers paid a low but reasonable wage and offered good insurance. Now they discriminate against US Citizens because they know that the illegals will work won’t turn in work injuries, report labor, OSHA or environmental violations. Because of the cheap labor that floods this employment market they offer few if any benefits and they wages are falling like a rock. Boot the illegals and the worst of all of these problems goes away. Note that I said “illegals” and not “immigrants”. Green card holders are fine by me. BTW, on the last census I had great insurance for my family and was earning 50% more money. Now I have such crappy insurance that I can’t afford to get testing done on my kidney that I need and the doctor won’t write any more prescriptions for my hypertension until I get it done. I’m out of meds and paying $150 per week for insurance that doesn’t cover crap but it is the best that my employer and my wife’s employer will offer. Why can't we address the insurance issue and the need for deportaions at the same time?

Too many americans are "users" and "takers" today, there are not enough workers "suppliers" and "supporters" to provide for everyone who doesn't feel like going to college or getting some technical trade training and providing for themselves. Medical care has never been a free entitlement in this country. Should we all have government sponsored legal services? Government issued cars? Maybe our government lawyers could sue the government Dr. so that our Marlboro smokin', beer drinkin' Big Mac eatin' WalMart Shoppin' asses can get our oxygen tanks, angio-plasty and liver transplants for free. We all want the "great prize" without putting ourselves in a place in life that we can access them by our own devices. Don't give me your boo hoo's and sob stories cause everyone/anyone in this great country has the opportunity to better there lot in life. Let's work for it instead of asking for it!!!

I wasn't labeling you as one of the "users/takers" but let's take a look. Hypertension - most frequent causes. Tobacco use, alcohol consumption, lack of exercise, and being over weight. All four personal life style choices. Any of those you? Have you earned a College degree or advanced technical or skilled trade certificate? What skills do you have to offer? And whose fault is that? The government? Illegal aliens?(Not that I support them being here.) With all due respect if I lost 50% of my wages and my health care I would go out and find myself another gig. If I need more education and training I would go get that too. Say what you want about where my head is but this I assure you. I do not need or want the government to take care of me and my family. That responsibility falls squarely on my shoulders. I wasn't trying to be insulting just honest!

Totally disregarding the obvious facts that times are hard, not everyone has the capacity or money to get a degree, and beleiving that every person who is having hard times is totally resbonsable for their situation is NOT being honest. Don't pretend to be ignorant such things just to defend your ideology.
And don't preach to me about what bad habbits you think I may have, you are just on a fishing expidition. If you don't know my situation stop guessing what it is.
You sound like some far out liberal trying to save someone from themself.
BTW, I now have a good paying job and good insurance and I have had a degree plus several professional awards and recognitions for years. But when a series of employers go broke or move times get rough.
You need to open your mind and forget the brainwashing crap.

First off I'm glad that your situation has improved, good for you! I also wish you good health and I hope you are able to get your medical conditions treated. And I agree that bad things happen to good people and it is impossible to always forsee the future. Absolutely, people get stuck from time to time. Secondly, my position is very un-liberal more Libertarian. I have no interest in saving people from themselves. I say no to government intrusion and support. I beleive that people should be able to do whatever they like as long as they, and they alone, pay the consequences. If someone wants to have unprotected consentual sex with a goat, while smoking crack and doing a shot of Jack be my guest, just don't bitch about not being able to get your treatment for the consequenses of those actions paid for by government sponsored Health Care. I realize that these views are idealistic and there are exceptions to every situation. Seriously, no one has the money to pay for college up front, it is an investment that pays back ten fold over the course of a life time. Yes there are a few people who are really incapable of improving their conditions and contributing to society. I just don't think that our way of thinking is right when we can't honestly ask ourselves have I really done all I can to solve this problem and be self sufficient. Change is hard, school is hard, work is hard, paying bills sucks, but my god man can we own a little bit of the credit or blame for where we are and what we are or are our lives all about what someone else has done to us or for us. I hope not. I wasn't preaching or fishing?? What you do or don't do is your business good or bad. I did not expect that you would answer I was making a point and sharing observations from my years on earth. Offering an opposing point of view.

You know there is a high percentage of college educated white collar people who have lost there jobs. You, hopefully will not experience the let down of thousands of dollars spent on education only to become unemployable because of age , or you just cost to damn much to keep you on board! Here is the target. 40 or older. been at your job for 5 years or so you know, somewhat comfortable. Lets see stats tell me you are a canadiate for heart trouble, stroke, hypertension. Humph don't drink, smoke, good family man or woman Na! give them the ax! we can hire two for what you cost! Loyalty Na screw em! eventually things will smooth out! Welcome to reality 2009!
