One only needs to observe social security or medicare to see the mess that the government makes when they "help" us

The will give us the same swell deal that the Brits and Canadians have

Government is too big now

there's no way I want the govt to control my ins. co., my doc visits, my future health concerns. They have botched medicare, social security, freddie mac and fannie mae, clunkers, and our economy for the future.

People need to educate themselves about "Obama Care." He plans to put the majority of people on Medicaid or Medicare. I challenge people to sit down and call all the doctors in your area and ask if they take Medicaid or Medicare patients. What good is "health insurance" if no doctor takes it. The problem is the reimbursement rate. Medicaid pays around $10 for an office visit. How long do you think a doctor can keep an office open with that little of return? All this will do is deflate health industry wages. I saw a recent posting for a LPN,$12 an hour!!! That's a great return after all the blood, sweat, and tears of a college education!!!!

I have had zero trouble with Medicare. I have had nothing but trouble from private insurance. Boy! How come folks can't see that? The problem is insurance companies and the problem with government is letting them take over the health care system.

I oppose because I don't need the government to take care of me.

I like my freedom, at least what's left of it.

It will all be gone in less than 3 years at the current rate of government growth.

Damian1190 thinks the insurance companies are the problem?

With a profit margin of 3.3% they aren't exactly rolling in the dough.

Get the state government out of it.

Let the companies sell their services across state lines.

Some Tort reform would be nice too.

Then see the prices improve and more American doctors in this country become healers again instead of specialist.

Our current healthcare system sucks. Admit it people...get your head out of the sand. Reform is needed. If more people would realize this, then maybe REAL debate could occur and perhaps a compromise.

Instead, people slam President Obama because of his political affiliation without knowing the facts so HIS ideas must be bad. Need an example? How many of you believe Palin's lie about the "death panel"?

Between Medicare and a Supplement Insurance a Senior can make it. But keep in mind the supplement premiums keep going up and there was no SS cost of living at all this year. The most expensive part is prescription medications and even with Part D there will be out of pocket expenses. Yes Medicare works and thus far no failure to choose your own doctors and hospitals. As for private insurance it has been a real burden. Every birthday your insurance goes up and if you encounter any problem it also goes up. I know there needs to be reform but I don't think it is coming any time soon, it is like there are too many Indian Chiefs and not enough workers. Both sides want to have the glory for writing it and of course you have to factor in malpractice and other costly issues. As a middle classer there are no breaks or much of a life you have insurance, co-pays, groceries, prescription drugs, taxes, utilities, school expenses, the list is endless. So we all stay in our homes if we are lucky and can't afford much of a life. Other countries have health care but the US does not seem to care for elders or even children.

the gov't is in control of our lives enough and we don't need MORE of them taking us over. If he gets it passed, then he can do whatever he wants to. The way all politicians do!

Aren't they the stubbornest bunch you ever saw and they are supposed to be professionals! The US government owns banks, car companies and health care and who knows what else by the time they finish. I think it is so sad American went bankrupt.

Is that the site or is it at the corner of Asbestos Road past Yonah Burger? I can't remember what the White County News said.
