Insurance companies are death panels, and have been for years. The GOP is made up of liars and sensationalists who are funded by corupt corporate interest groups. They sicken me!

If we don't reform our highly expensive, and inefficient Health Care System, it will eventually bankrupt the whole country. We have the poorest system in the developed world, with highly entrenched insurance interests that are actively trying to shoot all reform down. It is shameful that charity organizations originally established to help Third World countries, are spending much of their resources helping uninsured American citizens--this is not the America we all deserve.

health insurance is not the same as health care. american health care is unparalleled and no socialized scheme even approaches it. It's a step backward for health care a step forward for government control of our lives.

VMC, you attack republicans and the free enterprise system in general yet you provide no proof. this is a logical error so old it has a latin name; "argumentum ad hominem." violations of this nature render your statement absurd by definition. try to include some substance instead of playground name calling, it makes you look weak.

We have the best medical system in the world. I work with breast cancer patients and have never experienced and denial of services if the patient couldn't afford it.

Govt. has no business in health care. This entitlement program will bankrupt our economy. It is NOT deficit neutral.

People who are opposed to "Health Reform" understand the difference between "Health Insurance," and "Health Care." It doesn't do you much good to have health insurance when the system it creates cannot deliver the care.

Julie, you're argument seems to be this: The current system has faults.
From this you are concluding that there is an alternative system that works better.

In fact, there is not. Those countries that have "universal coverage," such as Britain's National Health Service do not offer the range, quality, and speed of service of the American system.

Why can't you get coverage because you've got a pre-existing condition? The main reason is that there are so few health insurance companies that are allowed to operate within each state. Remove the obstacles to increased competition and all needs will be filled in the most cost-effective way possible.

Once again, Julie, you are operating under an unprovable initial assumption. That is, that there are superior methods available. This is not the case. The British and Canadian systems are failures. You are better off here, with our system. There is always Medi-cal if you can't afford private insurance. No one need go without health care.

I have wonderful health insurance, however, I cannot stand to watch millions of people without any insurance suffer, or those that do have it go bankrupt when their insurance denies coverage for a major illness. This is what happened to my father while battling cancer. A California state employee for over 20 years with great insurance denied after the insurance company decided they had covered enough chemo.
