Insurance and government has taken negotiating away from the consumer. They've interfered with our free market, and driven prices higher and higher. If it was up to you and me, we would tell doctors this is what we can afford, take it or leave it. Soon they would take it or another doctor would. Cash talks and everything else walks. Prices would soon come in line to meet the demand of average people. I'm not reaching for a crying towel. I was an entreprenuer(in the music business) for 40 years and I'm now retired on my own investments not government or coporate welfare. Doctors and hospitals need to learn how to operate their business based on what consumers are willing to pay. If they can't they should end up where other business ends up, bankrupt. Old doctors need to move over and allow the young doctors more work. Young doctors start out with the concept people first, money last. Insurance companies have turned the medical complex into a money making scam.

President Obama's health care policy is a step in the right direction, but only a baby step. I am in favor of state-sponsored healthcare, but I would have settled for the government option. I was so angry when that was taken off the table! I should have known better, our fat health insurance companies will never released their grip! Isn't Capitalism wonderful!?!?

I believe that sometimes the doctors are to blame, but the lion's share of the blame falls on the insurance companies! They put lots of restrictons on the doctors, including time restrictions and fee restrictions. My doctor told me just last week and he can't afford to retire!
