Because this is just another victimized, and sadly, brainwashed citizen. The problem isn't with the availability of firearms to the American populous. Arguably, it is because since the late 1960's, mental health institutions have all but disappeared from our society. Real research on into this subject will reveal that murder rates have increased since that time in direct correlation with firearm related deaths and lack of good public mental healthcare. On the other hand, since 2008 a significant decrease of firearm related deaths have been highly significant since we have seen the result of current gun laws take hold; nothing is instant in a free and evolving society. And, the numbers continue to go down under current legislation. The facts are solid and are irrefutable. The laws we currently have on the books work. But we will never eliminate murder in a free society based on laws; only though true, heartfelt social reform and mental heath industry expertise. IMHO.

We already have enough gun laws on the books. The ones that we have should be enforced and many need to be dropped. Felons are already prohibited from firearm possession. The criminal acts that they commit, robbery, assault, murder, ect are already crimes in themselves. Criminals don't just stop the local gun shop and pick up a gun before committing a crime. Most of these firearms are found to be stolen, which stem from a law that has already been broken, theft or burglary, not that criminals care about laws anyway. Prosecute criminals to the fullest extent of the law, and leave law abiding citizens alone.

Worst murder by firearm nation in the world, no matter how you cut it. In sheer weight of numbers or deaths per head of population. 3-10 times any other place on the planet and I thought guns were supposed to prevent crime
If that's the way you feel why do you suppose law enforcement carries firearms? Where is your credible cite to back up your assertion for deaths per capita?

WELL Now I do have to agree with you on that. And when it was written, put that in into context. loading gunpowder and pellets and shoveling them down a barrel , as right to carry arms or a hand musket operating much the same.....I do NOT think they meant anything like what one idiot is giving away as incentive to vote for him. AR- 15 semi automatic assault rifle !WE THAT KNOW. But WE REALLY NEED TO PAY ATTENTION and Use common sense. Dang. It if looks like a duck , squawks like a duck and waddles like a duck...well heck ,,,,,chance are it IS a dang DUCK> people think, and do your own research. I am not even trying to sway your vote. Just get you to register and vote and please vote responsibly.
Personally, I am tired of the biggest soap opera drama ending up in the offices, getting elected or running uncontested and getting sworn into office. Stop voting in the drama. Vote what you truly believe and vote whomever you truly believe will actually do the job. Back them, volunteer for them, financially donate to them, especially sign those petitions so we have a choice for each and every dang office. A CHIOCE!!!!! and then get out and vote when the time comes. This is the last chance we have to actually get some action outta the HILL, is theses in 2014 election to make PROGRESS before the next Presidential election.
Please I ask everyone pray to whatever God, Creator, Allah, etc. of your own understanding, then if you have children really look at them and remember the day they were born what you wanted for them. If you have grandchildren, think of them and think of what your own parents endured to ensure that you and maybe siblings would have a better world to live in and a better life. Then remember that as an American citizen you have a privileges....the biggest one is your vote. It is your voice.do yourself and your family and generations to come, step up and speak up @BHearddoInc

Well, when the 1st Amendment was written, the spoken word, quill & parchment. and movable type were the only forms of free expression. I do NOT think they meant anything like telegraph, telephone, radio, television, satellite communication, microwave, and cellular.
So what is your point?

if a congressman and other businesses can 'raffle off' semi assault rifles then HELL YES I want this law reformed. when the laws were written AR_15's were NOT a twinkle in anyone's eye nor do I believe upholding my 2nd amendment right MEANS the right to what only military and law enforcement should have. Why does any common law abiding American citizen NEED an semi assault rifle? and WHY are we allowing them to be raffled by anyone let alone a congressman? WTF

REALLY ARE YOU THAT BLIND? progress is one thing...as you point out, stupidity is another,.... which you also point out.
so you have no issues with everyone owning a semi automatic assault rifle? Let's me ask you DO have you any children? have any been killed yet?
Surely you have enough common sense to see that alcohol is legal and so are guns...their reputation ALREADY speak volumes...and you think this is JUST PROGRESS? I will keep you in my prayers...you need to wake up. Hands you a cup of coffee c(__) to ponder with

No, I'm not blind. Second, what EXACTLY is a " semi automatic assault rifle"?
Stupidity is using that term with no knowledge of its meaning.
You sound like the concept of rights and liberties annoys you.
Bet you're a BIG fan of prior restraint.

And we don't have to bet what you may or may not be. You show us, Thought you had common sense and internet and you don't know what a semi automatic rifle is? Go into one of the local hospitals....where recently there's been shootings and thank goodness they did NOT have semi automatic guns.......Blows my mind your mind is so narrow. We laws that have been so twisted to suit smart folks...you know the kind...ones that do not know what 'semi automatic assault fire' are....Thank the Creator neither of the recent incidents had those or imagine the damage that would have been caused. Enough lives were lost. Enough medical personal walk softly in those facilities these days. I know since I was there just today. The Fear is still in the Air. And let us all be real CLEAR actually I am the one that HAS TO FIGHT FOR MY RIGHTS AND LIBERITIES DAILY. DAILY FINE FOLKS LIKE YOU TRAMPLE THEM IN THE NAME OF YOUR PROGRESS. SORRY I AM NOT THE UPPER 1% TODAY....but that will not always be the case. Some have chosen a humble road. I suggest you choose more carefully tomorrow when you wake up. Get your own house in order, I know how to get mine in order...and it takes no guns. It Takes faith.

I asked because I believe you have no common sense nor know what a semi-automatic rifle is.

Really? I think my 14 years as an EMT more than qualify me on that note.
Second, the VAST majority of firearms out there are semi-automatic. What you are totally missing is what they may or may not be shooting. Hollow pints? Full metal?, etc.
Your ignorance of firearms puts you at a decided disadvantage.
Woman_walkin wrote:

Means so much coming from one as ignorant as yourself.
Woman_walkin wrote:

Try that again in English, oh narrow-minded one.
Laws don't get twisted. They either get enforced or they don't.
Woman_walkin wrote:

Oh, so now you're going to toss in the word "assault". So tell us Ms. Gunsmith. What exactly makes a rifle an "assault rifle"? Can you tell us without having to google it?
Woman_walkin wrote:

Why? What makes an "assault rifle" so much worse than a regular rifle? Gotta google it?

Oh, you're full of crap!!!! Where did I ever trample any of your rights?? You really can spew garbage!

Are you on medication? You can't even stay on topic. What does the 1% have to do with semi-automatic rifles???

Faith kills. Especially blind faith.
I'm sorry that you feel that a woman should not be able to use a gun on her 240 lb. rapist/attacker. You would rather she just smile while getting strangled knowing her faith pleases you. How noble of you.
