Worst murder by firearm nation in the world, no matter how you cut it. In sheer weight of numbers or deaths per head of population. 3-10 times any other place on the planet and I thought guns were supposed to prevent crime

Where did you get that info. It has been debunked for a long time. While not the best country, the US is far from the worst. Have you been to Syria lately? Have you read about the non-gun violent crime rates in Australia?

Guns don't kill people and Cars don't kill people, just the people who use them kill people.

Never fired a gun and I think they are bad luck. It's good to have the freedom to obtain a firearm if need be, though.

Too many laws on the books now, most violate the 2ND Amendment and make no sense. They also negatively impact the good guys far more than the bad.

With more guns comes less crime. Criminals will always get guns so let good honest people own them too.

Amendment number 2 of the US Constitution is enough of a law restricting firearms.

it is not the gun laws that kill. it is the unlawful people that have the guns that kill.

Guns should be controlled. If your too lazy to take necessary assessments both mental and physical, learn to protect yourself in a different way... but the ability to buy a gun from Walmart? Not ok

Just enforce the laws already on the books and respect the 2nd Amendment.

I am a Soldier and trained and highly skilled Marksmen; from pistols to shoulder fired rocket systems. I am mentally and physically evaluated every year. I hold a Secret clearance in my given military field with IT and Public Trust added to that Clearance. Should I be made to jump through hoops to purchase, own, or use my side arm or other weapon to defend myself, my family, or my community? NO! That's what our forefathers were talking about when they said "A well regulated militia, being necessary...." They were not talking about hunting or the National Guard when they were protecting our rights. They were talking about typical citizens protecting our ourselves and our communities from enemies both foreign and more importantly domestic. Anyone who thinks that we need to have the very government the 2nd Amendment intends to protect us from, create more laws governing our right to own and carry firearms is either an idiot, highly ignorant, or a fricking subversive fool! PERIOD.

You are a fool creating and propagating lies to support your fanboy position for this increasing subversive government who would disarm you and then take your home. Disarming the citizenship is historically the first major step toward complete tyranny.

And no America is nowhere near the murder capital of the world when it comes to firearms. In fact, more people are beaten to death every year in America than are shot to death. More people die as a result of drunk drivers than all the firearm related deaths in America every year. That is straight from the FBI's Combined Crime Report for 2011/2012 and the CIA world Report. Look it up and verify your facts before you spout out B.S. like that and propagate more unnecessary fear based on lies and ignorance.

Nobody said that. Now, list another country with the same socioeconomic dynamics as the US and then we'll compare apples to apples.
