We need to get rid of the Constitution violating nonsense that we see in places like DC, Illinois, Maryland, New York, etc that strips people of their right to carry firearms

Keep the reasonable firearms, pistols and shotguns, there's no reasonable need for assault weapons

I have been around guns since I was young. When we would go to visit family in the south they was always guns in gun racks on the living room wall and in gun racks in the back window of their pickup trucks and i have NEVER seen a gun jump off of one of the gun racks and pull its own trigger and kill or wound someone. It isnt the guns that kill it is the idiot that is behind the gun that decided to hurt or kill someone.

I believe there can be a use for assault weapons. It is our right to possess firearms, and it should not be limited to pistols and shotguns.

Though the situation itself is rare, you could have a multiple person break-in. If all of these people break into your house, and are armed, what are you going to do with a pistol or shotgun? You're going to get gunned down while your focus is on somebody else.

With an assault rifle, you can post up and have no problems taking out multiple targets. It's a home security assurance. When it comes down to it, an assault rifle is assured protection over your home and family.

There is no need for fast cars big mansions or fancy clothes either. I think we should ban any car that goes over 55mph. They kill more than guns.

Let's say your child goes to college.

With the way it is, at any moment, a criminal could charge into a classroom and light up the place, with nothing holding him back. He could have a classroom full of students dead in almost an instant.

Now, if gun laws were tweaked and more leniency was allowed, students and professors alike would be armed and prepared for an unexpected event like this. If someone tried to commit a shooting, they would not fare too well, now would they?

And a plus side to that, if there ARE armed students and teachers implemented, it would be aware to the potential perpetrators of the crime, and they would not commit it in the first place.

So, I would have to politely disagree with you, it would solve this problem, and many others as well.

Criminals don't care about laws, obviously. Having a visible firearm will less likely make you a target when local law enforcement officers are not around.

Agreed, we do in-fact need semi automatic rifles. The fact of the matter is if you pull out a hand gun on a tyrannical, power hungry government. No questions ask you will be mowed down, your just simply out gunned my friends. You have better odds if you can match bullet for bullet, or come close. Because let me tell you people not a damn one of you could communicate or organize a counter attack. Let alone have the foresight to see the initial attack. So when the guns do get taken away don't whine and moan and I won't wast my energy telling you I told you so!

Criminals don't follow laws, otherwise they wouldn't be criminals. Criminals pray on easy targets or what they believe is a easy target. Having a firearm and/or the availability of every law abiding citizen to have a firearm will make it less likely to be a target. Law Enforcement officers are stretched thin not always around. Law Enforcement officers can only do so much, its every persons responsibility to be responsible for themselves.
