What if highly trained Government law enforcement (Federal, State and Local) were the only ones allowed to have, carry and legally use a firearms. Private “Law Abiding” citizens would not be allowed to owe nor use any type of firearm even in their home nor would they be allowed to physically protect life or property. Would people stop dying at the hands of others?

No!

Now since we know the criminals will still have firearms or other weapons each and every “Law Abiding” citizens will need to feel SAFE, so let us have a Government law enforcement officer assigned to them at birth to protect them from criminals. This Government law enforcement officer will never leave his or her assignment, where talking 24/7 “Government Security” to protect us so we can live free of the criminals.

""20 Children among 27 Dead In Newtown Elementary School Massacre

Gunman Opens Fire Inside Sandy Hook Elementary School Early Friday""

Where the hell was the Government law enforcement at?

I guess this POS criminal didn't see the "Sign" that guns were not allowed within a 100 feet of school ground, can you believe it? What the hell was the signs reason for not stopping this sensuous shooting?

Man stabs 22 children at China primary school

If your a POS who wants to be remembered and plans on going out with a high body count which of the following places would be preferred to achieve a high body count.

A prison?
A Grocery store in a non-carry State?
A Grocery store in a right to carry State?
A police Station?
A School with children unable to defined themselves and adults not allowed by law to defined themselves.

Hmmmmmm?

You cant blame Obama if new gun laws come out because of the little kids being shot dead by a 20 year old punk that comes from a white conservative family...

I for one will not blame the President for this one, this rest solely on the hands of the shooter. Like in every other mass shooting it will be discovered that multiple warning signs were ignored leading up to the shooting. Also, where did you hear that the mother was conservative; not saying she wasn’t there just are not many conservatives in that part of the country.

What the US needs to change is how instead of disciplining their brats, parents today take them to pseudo-mental health professional, who pump them full of drugs! People in the US have always been exposed to guns, but the school shootings didn't begin until the US started drugging childdren and teens. Place the blame where it belongs, on parents, educators, mental health professionals and the drug companies.

David Gregory mocked the NRA's Wayne LaPierre for proposing that armed guards be at every school in America. But the NBC host seems to have no problem with armed guards protecting his kids everyday where they attend school in Washington, D.C.

"You proposed armed guards in school. We'll talk about that in some detail in a moment. You confronted the news media. You blamed Hollywood and the gaming industry. But never once did you concede that guns could actually be part of the problem. Is that a meaningful contribution, Mr. LaPierre, or a dodge?," asked Gregory.

Later the host suggested that guns don't prevent violence in schools (he cited the mass shootings at Columbine and Virginia Tech). "But you would concede that, as good as an idea as you think this is, it may not work. Because there have been cases where armed guards have not prevented this kind of massacre, this kind of carnage. I want you would concede that point, wouldn't you?," Gregory pleaded.

The NBC host would go on the rest of the segment to suggest that armed guards might not be effective in preventing mass murders at school. Which is perhaps an interesting theoretical argument.

But when it comes to Gregory's own kids, however, they are secured every school day by armed guards.

The Gregory children go to school with the children of President Barack Obama, according to the Washington Post. That school is the co-ed Quaker school Sidwell Friends.

According to a scan of the school's online faculty-staff directory, Sidwell has a security department made up of at least 11 people. Many of those are police officers, who are presumably armed.

Moreover, with the Obama kids in attendance, there is a secret service presence at the institution, as well.

The only time I had trouble in Obama's four years was getting bullets. Because there was a rush on ammunition caused by the Chicken Littles who keep screaming the world was ending. My God we have gotten more rights in four years, to own assault weapons, and sell them in parking lots or flea markets. More rights to carry guns into restaurants, bars, parks, churches than ever before. At the same time we've had more tragic gut ripping accidents with guns than ever before. Kids finding their parents guns killing each other or their parents by accident or sometimes on purpose.
I would like to see life long training, maybe safety and shooting recertification for gun owners. I'd love for most people to take shooting courses on when NOT to whip out a weapon in public or when NOT fire especially in crowds. If shots are fired in a crowd and everyone pulls out their guns, the cops won't be able to tell the good guys from bad. It's getting crazy what armchair cowboys think they can do in real life.
I know people are scared but it terrifies me to go to the movies and some 70 year old guy's loaded and cocked gun falls out of his jacket pocket in front of my nephews kids. There's time to protect yourselves and then there's paranoia. I see more paranoia these days than real threats.
armed chair what? sandy hook could have used one of those on that fateful day. the only good defense is an effective offense. when seconds count, what good is it trying to get a hold of the police dept. a gun must be met with a gun.

Too many people murdered the method or in inanimate objects should be irrelevant.
My question then is as a country should our efforts be in lowering the body count or the number of times an act of violence is committed. It would seem that the vast majority of the proposals be bantered around will only reduce body count only and that’s not a bad thing at all. However would not it be better to focus on reducing the number of violent acts?

We do not have a Gun Problem; we have criminals in society problem and Evil People Problem.
PS, convicted criminals in prison are still in society…….
