No, with one exception. Advance NICS to include mental illness records.

Except that the facts aren't real......

No need to look any farther than the actual FBI website for an example!

Total all weapons 100

Firearms 68

Knives or cutting instruments 12.9

Unknown or other dangerous weapons 13.1

Personal weapons (hands, fists, feet, etc.) 6

Please include a credible cite to back up your numbers.

No, mass transit works for many.
<quoted text>
Not all.
<quoted text>
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! !!!!!
Does it take courage to start texting? Putting on makeup? Fumbling with the CD player? Talking on the phone? Engaging in conversations with 3 other people in the car? Getting pissed at the driver that cut them off?
Yeah, that takes courage.
Is that why the vast majority of collisons are caused by neglect, carelessness, and outright rage?
<quoted text>
According to you, that is.
<quoted text>
Most people never use that kitchen fire extinguisher or that 2nd floor escape ladder.
<quoted text>
Really? There are far more things that can and do fail on cars than with guns.
<quoted text>
I see. So only gun deaths matter to you.
<quoted text>Your education is lacking as well.
Now, let's talk about annual defensive gun uses, shall we?
You really don't say much. You type alot but not much gets said.

1). Half were suicides? If you want to categorize them then you have to ask yourself how many cars have been used as weapons to kill people? Answer: not many.

2). I don't need to cite a credible source, if you're too lazy to find them yourself then I can't help you.

3). Mass transit works for many? Really? Grand Rapids mass transit sucks. Try getting mass transit in Fargo or Flagstaff. Even in bigger US cities like Columbus and St Louis the mass transit is horrible.

4). No? People don't rely on their cars? Ok now you're losin me.

5). People die everyday in car accidents that aren't their fault. Those people texting, putting make up on and road raging end up hitting other people. I'm not sure what your rambling post on this was about.

6). Fire extinguishers and ladders aren't used to kill people. Stay on topic if you can. We are talking about the comparisons of guns and cars that you people are always bringing up.

7). What does car parts failing and guns have to do with each other? I've already explained to you that more people use cars everyday and they have another purpose outside of killing things.

8). Batch said more people are killed by knives every year than guns. That's why I mentioned knives. Try to stay on subject...you're wondering again.

9). Annual defensive gun uses vs. how many people use cars annually? LOL. Face it they are not stastically comparable.

It seems as if your education has been wasted then. My sources are lazy? Your sources are just plain wrong. Tell me, which university was it that teaches 31,900<2,000?

Much gets said and much goes over your head.

The government categorizes them. "Not many"...how much is that?

True, you can continue to spew unchecked BS. It seems to suit yopur style.

Obviously for it to remain in place it has to be viable and affordable. Any clue how people ride the trains and railways every day?

Define 'horrible'
St Stephen wrote:

They rely on them brcause they have them but for those that don't, they manage to get by without them. Centuries of people did.

Those AREN'T accidents. Accidents occur where there is no fault and no negligence.

Fire extinguishers and ladders are used to save lives and property. Firearms are used to save lives and property. Get it now?
St Stephen wrote:

Point. There are far more things that can fail on an automobile than can fail on a firearm. And for having purposes other than killing, automobiles are STILL responsible for more deaths and injuries in the US every year.
And yet there are millions of rounds fired through firearms without anyone killed or injured. The point is, the ability to use either safely depends on the responibility of the operator.

I'm "wondering"? IS that British for "wandering"? I don't care what Batch said.
St Stephen wrote:

I wasn't comparing the two for the defensive gun uses.
Defensive gun uses outnumber firearms deaths & injuries. Got it?

No law ever stopped a crime. No ban ever kept anyone from getting something banned. There will never be enough police to prevent crime, of course that is not what the police have ever been for. The experts don't have the answers except they think they know better because they're the experts, right?

Oh and lets not forget BHO has all the answers.

What a perfect example of a clueless whiny rant.....

So if the President had all the asnwers, would you like to explain why he put the Veep in charge of finding those answers?

Senator Dianne Feinstein,
I will not register my weapons should this bill be passed, as I do not believe it is the government’s right to know what I own. Nor do I think it prudent to tell you what I own so that it may be taken from me by a group of people who enjoy armed protection yet decry me having the same a crime. You ma’am have overstepped a line that is not your domain. I am a Marine Corps Veteran of 8 years, and I will not have some woman who proclaims the evil of an inanimate object, yet carries one, tell me I may not have one.
I am not your subject. I am the man who keeps you free. I am not your servant. I am the person whom you serve. I am not your peasant. I am the flesh and blood of America.
I am the man who fought for my country. I am the man who learned. I am an American. You will not tell me that I must register my semi-automatic AR-15 because of the actions of some evil man.
I will not be disarmed to suit the fear that has been established by the media and your misinformation campaign against the American public.
We, the people, deserve better than you.

I am with you brother. Please do not register your weapons, especially that AR-15. If you buck the governement that will give us crooks a better chance to get guns and rob banks. I can't figger out for the life of me why you would need an AR-15 since you ain't a crook. I ain't got a AR-15. Can you tell me where to steal one?

Me and my gang make our living robing banks. I don't shoot nobody unless they needs to be shot. There is a law against robbing banks, I think, but I don't care. I read where this J.Edgar Hoover has sicked his best agent, a feller named Purvis on my tail. A feller has a right to make a living even if he is a crook. I'll be watching out for Purvis. I got me a tommy gun.

A rant eh. How can you call what I wrote a rant when its the truth. No law ever stopped a crime. No ban ever stopped someone from getting or doing what was banned. And there will never be enough police to enforce every law or prevent crime. Is this an untrue statement?

By the way maybe you haven't noticed I rarely come to this forum just once in a while just to troll but I see you don't miss a minute. What do you live on five hour energy and Jimmy Johns?

You're concerned because I called your post a rant? Why?

According to the dictionary, your post, and many of mine are exactly that.......

"to utter in a bombastic declamatory fashion"

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/ran...

I would have thought that you would have had an issue with either clueless, or whiny, or both. However, if you only worry about being bombastic.... So be it.

Like gun laws, I guess there isn't anything we can do about!

How long before the confiscation begins? I own a Winchester 22 it can hold 17LR rounds is that an "assault" weapon? of course my question is purely rhetorical in the minds of the unlearned it is, most probably don't even know what LR stands for. And then they hear "long rifle" and say who needs that.

Millions of rifles out there with different configurations and design all do the same thing, the argument is mute the left hates guns and will do whatever it takes to get them pure and simple. Its just a matter of time, the CDF in their red jackets will be showing up. Watch for it lefty is coming for your freedom..

Still can't get past the clueless and whiny part huh?

As far as that goes, I would hope that any new gun regulations does include grounds for confiscation for those who have been convicted of a violent felony or are proven to be mentally unstable.

Why some of you can't see the logic behind putting some measure of responsibility on gun owners or sellers is beyond me.
