everyone has the right to own a gun, but the assault and rapid-repeat guns should be restricted to military and law enforcement use ONLY. No individual needs this kind of weapon to hunt or defend their family and home.

Please constitutionally define militia for me and explain to me why a militia or any other able bodied man should not be able to own military grade firepower. The second amendment gives the constitution teeth. It was written, along with the other 9 amendments of the bill of rights, so that the states would ratify the constitution. The early states new the importance of individual gun ownership, but sadly it has been lost by the majority of the current populous.

We have enough laws that don't cure the problems. More won't help.

Justlike those nasty dirty low down unions, when I join something I don't want my name used for their own agenda. I am 65 been hunting and fishing all my life, never felt the need to join a republican wing of their party. Also your typical name calling makes you look and sound like a republican.Your mom would be proud, little man.

I have to agree with you on your assessment of the NRA. They are quiet disappointing, mostly due to the fact that they are fully endorsing a candidate that has signed an "assault weapons" ban into law. Obama has done no such thing. The NRA should have taken the higher road and endorsed neither candidate.

You sound like a petulant little cur. The NRA doesn't speak for the Repubs any more than it speaks for the Dems.

Being from Illinois I would have hoped that you knew that Obama is no friend of the 2nd Amendment.
