I'm all for the freedom to bear arms but I'm not for the freedom to own assault rifles, automatic weapons, Uzis, etc.

Touchy subject, its tough for a state to enact these laws based soley on bigger cities. Upstate has alot of hunters, and most of which are responsible with their firearms. I think right now the U.S. could focus on more important things though.

Go "Open Carry". Lets see someone run up in a theater full of armed patrons.

Open Carry in all U.S. states. Let's see someone try to run in a theater full of armed patrons. Like the old man who stopped the robbery July 13th, 2012. Pro Constitution, or Revolution.

This is a scary thing. Please call your Senator, tell them you are a voter in their District, and you
do not want this UN Bill to pass. This is politics from the ground up. Lobbying without leaving your living room. This works. If enough people call. Dont let them take our way of life. Iran and the UN can't take my weapons. read this article for more info. Do not forget to call.

BTW "Assault Rifle" is not an UZI or Machine Gun (which these are already illegal to own.) An "Assault Rifle" is a rifle that has a magazine, or detachable clip.
It defined the rifle type of assault weapon as a semiautomatic firearm with the ability to accept a detachable magazine containing more than 10 rounds, and two or more of the following:
Folding or telescoping stock
Primary pistol grip
Threaded barrel (for a muzzle brake or a suppressor, commonly called a silencer)
The assault weapons ban did not restrict weapons capable of fully automatic fire, such as assault rifles and machine guns, which have been continuously and heavily regulated since the National Firearms Act of 1934 was passed. Subsequent laws such as the Gun Control Act of 1968 and the Firearm Owners Protection Act of 1986 also affected the importation and civilian ownership of fully automatic firearms, the latter fully prohibiting sales of newly manufactured machine guns to non-law enforcement or SOT (special occupational taxpayer) dealers.

Why not? When was the last time you read about a crime committed with one of those?
