Gun Laws Debate - Attleboro, MA
Does the US need to reform its gun laws?

If they change anything they are only going to make it hard for people to get them. I am currently try to renew my licence and its a pain just doing that. People that do bad things with guns 99 out of 100 dont have a licence.

There are plenty of laws, for the law abiding (too many in fact). The problem is that people bent on doing harm to others are not the least concerned about the laws. The bumper sticker that reads "when guns are outlawed, ONLY outlaws will have guns" is trite, but absolutely true. Other countries (and some of the other states in the US) recognize the best deterent to a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun, right there, right now. Politicians bent on "control" of people they look down on as their inferiors, will use any lie that suits their purpose, but our founding fathers had it right when they picked the exact wording they used for the 2nd amendment - without an armed populace, the first amendment is easily surpressed.
