I am pushing for passing an IQ test with at least a 60 to own a gun. That would eliminate you from owning a gun, and most of Alexander County.

That goes against the constitution first of all. It is an American right to own a gun given the citizen's past.

I have guns just like the ones use in a lot of shootings. And I will tell you right now if anyone tries to take my guns, well lets just say I guess I'll be another statistic! I'll be in the category of people that will be killed during the act of defending their 2nd amendment right!!

No one is taking your guns away. Do you know what it takes to repeal the 2nd Amendment? Tell us the process and then tell me that will happen.

I suggest you read the US Constitution. The Supreme Court upheld The Affordable Care Act. What specific rights have been taken away from you?

Some day your IQ may eacj double digit proportion but nobody is going to hold their breath waiting for that to happen.

Do you want to discuss the Constitutional procedure to repeal the 2nd Amendment, or do you wish to remain stupid and incoherent on here?

Good, why don't you explain to us the Constitutional requirement to repeal an Amendment, and also how practical that would be to accomplish in today's America.

Why don't you look it up for yourself? It wouldn't be politically expedient to do such a thing in today's divided America.
Second, we can see from the 18th Amendment what happens when the governemt opts to amend the Constitution in a way that restricts rather than expands rights and liberties.
Don't think there's too many polluticians willing to stick their neck out on that kind of process again.

So, what's with the myth spouted by the right wing that their guns will be taken away? Nonsense. It would never reach even the first step of the process.

It depends on which guns we're talking about. Also, many Democrats feel the samwe way.

It would if Schumer, Feinstein, McCarthy, Bloomberg, etc. thought they had the majority to pull it off.

Which they don't. The constitutional process still stands as the rule of law, and you know it. To say that those individuals you named would do that carries no substance, and is all speculation on your part. All Democrats that I know support the 2nd Amendment, including myself. With a degree of common sense, we just don't think that some automatic and semi automatic weapons should be made available to the public. They serve no purpose but to kill other human beings. We don't like innocent people shot up in movie theatres by nut cases.

That's where you're wrong. Feinstein is already on record...
"All told, HR2038 is a giant step closer to the goal stated by the assault-weapons ban sponsor, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., on CBS "60 Minutes": "If I could have gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States for an outright ban, picking up every one of them -- Mr. and Mrs. America, turn them all in -- I would have done it."

Yeah, that's no substance, eh Oscar? All they need are 2/3 of both Houses to get the ball rolling.
Oscar Dugan wrote:

But there are far more anti-gun Democrats than Republicans.
Oscar Dugan wrote:

You obviously lack that common sense and show an amazing lack of knowledge about firearms.
Automatics are legal for those whoo purchase the proper stamps. When was the last time you personally heard of a shooting by an owner of one of those? When was the last time you heard of any crime committed by an automatic weapon?
Close to half of all hunting rifles are semi-automatic. If they are so bad, why isn't the murder rate much higher?
Why are semi-auto hadguns so much worse than revolvers?
Oscar Dugan wrote:

Really? And shotguns don't? Revolcvers don't? Mine have never killed anyone. Does that mean they're defective?
Can you produce just one Operating Manual from one of those guns that says its purpose is "to kill other human beings"??
Are the semi-autos used by hunters to hunt game defective because they only killed animals?
If the over 20,000 Federal, State, County, Municipal, and City laws on firearms not "common sense", how many more would be?
Or do you believe there is a law out there waiting to be written and passed that would make a criminal suddenly obey it??
Oscar Dugan wrote:

We don't like innocent people shot up in so called "Gun Free Zones" which amount to killing fields because the criminals know they can go in and exact maximum carnage without anyone to stop them.
Columbine and Virginia Tech are other great examples.
Guess the "common sense gun laws" crowd prefer to have students and theater patrons beg for their lives rather than having a means to protect themselves. How noble!

Another great pollutician proposing legislation for things she has NO idea about.
This is a so called "common sense" gun control proponent.
