You are correct, criminals do not obey the law, which is why they banned fully automatics and extended clips.
No they didn't. I can still get a full auto.
Since abolishing the right to bear arms would be pointless and constitutionally wrong, all we can do is limit what criminals can buy at a store so that if they do decide to go on a shooting spree,
Criminals don't get their weapons in stores largely.
then they will run out of ammunition and without fully automatics (and I think some semi's have been banned as well) they will be unable to just fire off into a crowd and cause massive casualties.
You don't know what it takes toget a full auto, do you?
That does not take away from the fact that people still die by guns, and people become victims whether by being shot or having their loved ones killed, and I think that unless you are affected by such an event, then you couldn't possibly understand why so many people want stricter gun control.
That's BS!!! That's like saying unless I become a heroin addict, I cannot speak on the dangers of illicit drugs.
8 years as an EMT exposed me to more misery than any one of those families ever endured.
I believe in the right to bear arms. I myself have a couple of rifles and if the government tried to take them away then I would fight for my right to keep my rifles. I have them for protections, for recreation, and for hunting. What I am suggesting, s a gun owner myself, is that we fix the broken laws, tighten up the restrictions
(especially to high power weapons)
Based on what?
and find ways to keep weapons out of the hands of ex-convicts (mostly those who committed gun crimes) and those who are mentally unstable to the point that they would be a danger to themselves or to others if they possessed a weapon. I think with one of my prior posts I proved that what happened in Arizona could have been prevented with tighter restrictions.
No evidence supports that.
Also, to think they or county itself is innocent from events such as what happened there or in columbine, then we must think back and remember that there were three occasions where there could have been shootings in our own school. I am not saying take away everyone's guns (as some one suggested that I was saying that), am simply saying that we need to have a civilized and open dialogue concerning the issue of gun control and if we can have that cohesion of people and political parties, then we could probably come up with a better gun control law. And if we do it in unity, then we could accomplish something that extremists said was impossible.
So tell me what laws you think criminals will obey.
