Gun control isn't about guns. It's about control.

Control just like the drug control? That is a real winner. The more the government tries to control peoples lives the more they fail. How many states are having to turn criminals loose because their jails are over crowded? If they can not enforce the laws we have now what makes you think more laws is the answer? I don't know many criminals who really care what new laws you make that is why they are called criminals. How about daily home searches to make sure you are a law abiding person would you want that? Maybe we should all wear tracking collars so the government can keep an eye on everyone?

point well taken i see the logic in ur comment but guns need to stay out of the hands of criminals but as you said the more they try the more they fail.

As a convicted felon they have lost their rights including gun ownership legally how ever I have yet to see a criminal obey the law. I believe in instant background checks. It works but most criminals don't go to a gun store they buy them on the black market. If a gun toten criminal walked in to a bank pulled a gun and saw 20 guns pointed back at him how long would he stay in that line of work? If you were going to rob some one and there were 2 people in an ally one with a gun one without which one would you rob?

As a law enforcement officer, I carry a firearm daily. I believe in and stand for The Second Amendment. I believe the armed person is a citizen and the unarmed are victims. No one, I repeat, no one is exempt from being a victim. I was targeted and set up for a home invasion in the past, the only saving grace was I was awake AND armed. I don't worry about the armed citizen, it's the thugs I scrutinize. John Q. Public who owns and packs a weapon daily is the least of my worries. Being a husband and father of two small children, I will do ANYTHING I have to to protect them and my home. Gun control laws only make it harder for those that can legally own a firearm, again, due to the thugs and miscreants running around due to a broken and crippled judicial system. We are merely sheep amongst wolves but I refuse to be led to the slaughter!

Every one needs to remember that the federal government is not your friend ,they would at the frst chance sell us out as citizens ,they already have.Just look at our debt to china & other united nations members .Thats why they are trying to get this gun control passed .because of pressure from the UN to do so .SCREW the UN & china Tell them to come get em .

The 2nd Amendment doesn't say anything about background checks.

It's what a country was founded on. Look up on history and research why we have the right to keep and bear arms.
