<quoted text>Racist rants have no place on a gun control thread. I know white and black and asian responsible gun owners. I have also met people that have no business owning a firearm of various races including white. There are irresponsible people in every race. I have a problem with the "ghetto" mentality as well as the "trailer park" mentality, to me they are very similar and a drain on the rest of us.
Spot on!!! However, with Eddie we're dealing with a single-wide mentality from a double-wide ass.

Too many kids with guns, or with easy access to guns. People have no real use for them except for sport, target shooting. Get the guns off the streets. People in general don't need a gun.

99% of guns used in crimes, are illegal!!!! All gun control is going to do is remove the guns, from those of us who own them legally! The criminals, will still have guns. Just look at the drug problem, CRACK, COCAINE, SMACK, are all illegal, and readily available. More laws won't and don't work. Education, and enforcement of the laws we now, have will help. More police would be a great help, but no one wants to pay for it.

Really? So personal protection doesn't qualify as a "real use" for you?
<quoted text>Who made you the arbiter of what people need? The 2d Amendment is part of the Bill of Rights...not the Bill of Needs...no the Bill of What Joyce Says You Need.
So would you say it is morally superior for a young woman that has to walk through a dimly lit parking lot to simply give in to the whims of her attacker/rapist/potential murderer as opposed to having her explain to the authorities how that bullet hole came to be in her attacker's chest?
Amen, hopefully, more than one bullet hole!

Guns are only a tool, a Constitutionally protected one at that. They do not mindlessly jump off the shelf, load themselves and kill folks. A couple jack_asses with a box cutter hi-jacked a plane and flew it into a tower, killing thousands. Should we ban box cutters, planes and flight simulators? One air marshall would have put those jokers down, using a gun, pepper spray etc.

We really need more gun control. It works so great! Just look how hard it is for criminals to get guns. Boy it's really working great, that's why we need more! Loads more!

Violent video games? Oh it's just kids playing, killing the bad guys, what we really need is more control. Gun control, because it works so great!

Cholera kills more children worldwide than guns. Why don't we guard our children better than we guard our gold and cash?

People kill people....Period, the person just decides what tool or method they will use to carry out the task. Guns don't do squat unless a person is holding it and squeezing the trigger.

These new guns laws do nothing more than go after law abiding citizens. Wake up Washington....go after the real criminals like the one that is the U.S. Attorney General, does the operation Fast and Furious mean anything. Last time I knew it was lead by example, not sweep it under the rug.

Obamy wants to use his Executive powers to tighten gun laws. http://www.usatoday.com/story/home/2013/01/09...

Go ahead, but when people fight back and it goes to the supreme court, you may just find that the whole executive order thing is unconstitutional. Congress makes the laws, the POTUS can't bypass that process with an executive order.
