If I can't have a gun how do I protect myself and family from home invaders?
Asking them to leave won't do the trick.

He broke existing laws to purchase the gun. He apparently lied on the FF purchase form (a felony).

The police are minutes away when seconds count. No guns for law abiding citizens, means only criminals will have guns.

Bans only impact the law abiding folks. The criminals then know that they can do crime with a gun and have no one shooting back.

How do you think you'll get the guns away from the criminals??

The laws in place need to be enforced before new ones are made. Someone determined to do harm will find a way and won't obey laws anyway.

A study by the Crime Prevention Research Center has confirmed what you probably already knew: the more people are legally able to arm themselves, the less likely they are to become victims of violent crime.

According to the study, the number of concealed carry permit holders is now 11.1 million. That doesn’t even count states like New York that require a permit but didn’t provide data. And some states do not require residents have a permit to carry a concealed handgun.

Regardless, the stated figure represents a 130 percent increase since 2007. In the current anti-gun climate, you’d expect violent crime to soar along with it.

But instead, violent crime has fallen 22 percent over that time period. Within that figure, the murder rate has fallen by nearly the same percentage.

The report also highlights that very few concealed carry permit holders are convicted of gun-related crimes.

It's almost as if criminals are afraid of legally armed citizens.

This foolish talk about a handgun ban would only affect the law abiding.
