I hate to break it to you New York, but your state's largest city was far more violent in the 1800s than any wild west town. If you don't believe it, try looking it up. I don't know why I'm shocked by myopic sheeple like you that think westerns banged out by Hollywood show how the west really was.

Look at your lovely state. Some of the highest crime rates in the country, but yet you've got the toughest gun laws. If criminals do not obey the current laws, what makes you think that they're going to obey more of them? You're only disarming honest people.

If you choose to go unarmed, feel free to do so. If you don't like our country's constitution, feel free to move to a country that has laws more to your liking.

I truly wish that our founding fathers would have added one final amendment. "Anybody that speaks out against our constitution, trys to change it, or violate any citizens rights, may be summarily executed!" Then we'd never have to worry about it.

You should be ashamed to call yourself an American.

"execute anyone who speaks out against the constitution" so its ok to get rid of the first amendment but not the second? well you just spoke out against the first amendment of our constition so its time for you to go execute yourself dumbass.

It is my Constitutional right to carry a gun, if I so wish; and God help anyone who tries to take that right away from me.

Gun ownership is a right not a privilege...your driver's license is a privilege, that's why the state can take away your license if you abuse it.Gun ownership falls under "The Bill Of Rights" not the Bill Of privileges.

Yes we don't live in the wild west. Much worse these days. Anyway, it's our right to own and use firearms.

We absolutely cannot design our societies rights and privileges around the .01% of the population who are too demented to understand basic concepts like "murder is wrong". These criminals need to be dealt with individually, it may be more work, but you cannot punish decent people for something they have not done and most likely never will. In the immortal words of Jon Stewart: "Guns are not the problem, Crazy is the problem"

It's not the guns that are a problem; it's the hands that hold the guns that are the problem! Illegal Guns and Drugs are the REAL Problem.
Send Them Up For Life

Guns are not the problem, the legal/judicial system is the problem. Any person committing a crime using a gun should be sent up for life... no parole. This country is way to soft on all convicts. Little slaps on the wrist are not working. We tell the prisoners what they can and cannot do, they don't tell us. If our convicts don't like the way they are treated in U.S. prisons, then lets send them to another country's prison, i.e. Mexico.

It just makes the criminals more powerful. All the laws in the world won't make a difference to them!

if guns kill people and people who use guns to kill people should maybe be shot and not live off the people who legally use guns for sport, jails are over crowded with murderers, get rid of them , might solve some of the fiscal dellimma we are in, killers should be dealt with no passified.
