Law enforcement is unable to protect it's citizens, now why would we surrender our right to bear arms? As a US Marine I am more than capable of protecting my family now why would I ever believe the police are even slightly competent?

in 1933, Hitler did the same. germans (including the jews)had no way to defend themselves. the founding fathers where explicit, that without guns, the people would not be able to hold, and keep government, accountable to their needs and wishes. the new world order seeks to elliminate all resistance to their agenda. Me, as an ex- marine 1967, I hold my ground and I hold my politicians accountable to the Constitution(even if it really doesn't exist anymore).

I oppose the ban on handguns because I would not be able to stop intruders from harming my family by throwing bananas at them.

Everyone has the right to defend themselves, their family, and their home. However, I believe that people who purchase weapons should be properly trained to use them safely, and only for self-defense or hunting. If a criminal breaks into my home in the middle of the night, I would not hesitate to shoot him or her. The same goes if someone attempted to rob me on the street. I think that we all have the right to defend ourselves against the criminal element, and less crime would occur if people were able to carry guns legally and use them when necessary to protect themselves. Criminals certainly will carry a gun, why shouldn't I be allowed to do so, as well?

2nd Amendment guy. We might need handguns for protection and people have a right to self defense.

Niether the Federal, State, or local authorities have any constitutional authority to tell Americans how they can bear their arms, much less what arms they can bear.

Sorry. You don't get to mandate who has to be trained and what they use their guns for. Only control freaks make those demands.
