I cant believe this is even a question. With all of the recent bans being declared unconstitutional, Washington DC, Chicago, why would any city go through the effort, there are more important things to deal with.

Yeah, but you know as well as I do there is always some self righteous city commissioner who thinks he knows a way around it. I suggest to all city governments leave it alone.

There are already laws in place to control handguns that could be quite effective if they were enforced

A ban on handguns would be ineffective anyway, as has been shown in cities that have tried it. Criminals get them anyway, despite the laws that purport to control guns.

Liberals will never give up on something they want, no matter the unconstitutionality or the majority in opposition, or the predictable negative result. They will continue to whine and plot until they finally get their way.

Perfect example: the smoking ban. We heard from dozens (literally) of bar customers who told us they would be regulars if the smoking ban passed. "We'll be down here all the time once there's no smoking!", they clucked.

Oddly, we haven't seen them since.

The same will happen when these people who refuse to mind their own business finally get to take your gun away. Violent crimes won't be reduced. In fact, as proven in other cities, the predictable result will be an increase in innocent victims.

And you won't hear a peep out of the gun-control whiners. Until they find something else they deem you shouldn't have.

We need fewer laws, more strictly enforced. Make the punishment for violating those laws absolutely draconian. Put the responsibility for owning a gun squarely on the owner's shoulders. If you are not willing to be put to death for accidentally shooting through a wall while cleaning your gun, you don't take guns seriously enough, and shouldn't own one.

What is the correlation of Liberals to bar customers that said they would come in the bar once the ban started and then didn't?

There is none. He has been so Fox-Newsified that everything that happends to him is the fault of "liberals".

This debate seems to be going nowhere, maybe because its an anti story. I mean what city government would dare take this on. I would like to here from some people who would support it and get the logic behind it, and let them try to prove why banning guns or anything for that matter is a good idea.

You know though the "New World Order" that so many elitists and "world leaders" support will try to take them away, then there will be blood.

If I am not mistaken, that is why they are called "CRIMINALS". Of course you have to have a couple ounces of gray matter between the ears to comprehend that.

You're right it isn't a story, it's just more trumped up BS that the NRA has concocted to keep their coffers full. Without fear and lies no one would go to their rallies or write them big fat checks.

Facts are facts. You have MORE rights under this democratic president than you did under a republican one. Go figure.

Well I have to disagree no president has anything to do with our rights, We have just as many rights now as we did 5,000 years ago. Rights are rights they have are acknowledged no one can give them or take them away.

The correlation is that the majority (by a gigantic amount) of smoking ban supporters also have Obama stickers slapped on their back bumpers and are more than willing to pronounce their liberal devotions given a couple umbrella-festooned alcoholic drinks. But you probably won't hear Rachel Maddow interviewing any bar owners to hear that side of the story, so you probably won't believe it, Unbelievable.

No one needs Fox to define where these bans continue to generate, SS. We've been dealing with the left's anti-smoking and anti gun fixation for decades. If you're not even willing to accept what your own party's agenda, it's no wonder you turn a blind eye to it's failed philosophies.

you have got to be shitting me....this is a president that has lied right to your face and you can't see that...what happened to all the promises...you know...the IMMEDIATE withdraw from iraq...post of all legislation on the web before signing....hell, under his health care plan, i don't as a small business have the freedom not to offer health care w/o having to pay a penalty....get off the feel good "we elected a black president" wagon, open your eyes to what is really going on, and then tell me about the "freedom" we have....more like "feedthem" (with OUR money)
