So you're suggesting completely disarming the government/military as well as the general population, or just the latter?
Just the general population. Actually I don't feel like they need to be completely disarmed. I enjoy shooting, but at a range. I think gun owners should have to keep their guns locked up at designated ranges/hunting lodges if they do want to keep them. That way they can use them in a secured environment where they have to be checked in and out and not taken off the premises. This will probably solve 99% of the gun issues we have as usually people are stealing guns from friends or neighbors to kill people.

The right to bear arms is in the constitution for a reason. We have the right to protect ourselves, to protect our loved ones and our neighbors, and to maintain the freedoms that we believe in.

It also gives the right for people to carry a gun to kill your kids as well, good luck defending them while your at work... yeah that's a smart reason to keep it in the constitution... I can't be around my kids 24/7 to defend them, my loved ones and my neighbors, so better just to keep the guns out of everyone's hands!

Way to go Pat. You will really get the gun nuts riled up with your facts & comments.
The number of people and families owning guns is at the lowest level in decades. The total number of guns is at the highest level. The gun nuts continue to fall for the NRA PR and are buying guns and bullet s as fast as they can. More guns, more gun deaths.
The best part will be the responses from the gun nuts as they prove just how dumb they are.

First, I enjoy shooting. I like going to the range and own multiple guns locked up. But I do feel this country has to change, its not the 1800's anymore. Everyone doesn't need a gun.
Who made you the arbiter of "need"
KuroHouou wrote:
But people should still be able to keep and use their guns at licensed gun ranges, or designated hunting locations, just so they can feel like they haven't lost their right.
Huh? So only locations that YOU and your handlers sanction?
KuroHouou wrote:
There guns could be checked out properly and monitored to make sure they aren't removed from the area.
Why? What purpose would that serve?
KuroHouou wrote:
We need to get guns off the street and away from the common criminal or insane person.
What does that have to do with your idea above?
KuroHouou wrote:
People may say they need them for protection but I ask this. How will you protect your child when they are at the movies or school when you are at home or at work. You can't.
Then please explain how there are over 1 million defensive gun uses in this country annually. Why do you espouse a "Sitting Duck" mentality?
KuroHouou wrote:
I would feel much safer with a baseball bat, taser, knife or anything else at home knowing guns have been banned on the streets and the common robber won't have one.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! So you believe that if guns are banned, the criminals will simply turn them in? What about all of the OTHER weapons a criminal carries?
KuroHouou wrote:
And most of all I would feel much better knowing my kids have less chance of being shot and killed!
Your feelings don't trump the rights of other people.

When was the last time someone saved a group of people from a mass shooting because that person was armed and saved everyone?
Let's see. Appalachian Law School. Church in Colorado....
Should I go on?
Then there's this....

I am just curious, there has to be some kind of article out there as you talked about it right? How also will you with your concealed weapon save your child from getting shot at school while your at work?
Who ever made that claim? Nice strawman.
KuroHouou wrote:
It's nice to say these things if your in the right place at the right time, but the majority of the time your not, no one is. It happens all to fast and the people laying dead are the innocent :(
Because they were unble to defend themselves against attack. Thanks to your ideas.

The American gun culture and violence hits close to home. A gun crazy shoots and kills two Marines and then kills himself. Two innocent active duty Marines are dead because of easy access to a gun.
Yes this shooter was crazy and should not have a gun. But he did, even though he was crazy. The easy access to guns kills two young Marines.
What a waste.
Too many guns in our society. Easy access to guns. Guns kill people. And Marines too.
There are laws against crazies with guns. But you want more laws. That's crazy!

No amendment should trump the right to life.
Since when is being against guns un-american?
What is with people assuming that their opinions are an American opinion? I'm an American, and much like 150 million other American people (see 2012 elections).. I/We disagree with what your definition of "American" is.
It's land and resources. It's not made up of my or your opinions, religion, political stances. Grow UP!
The 2nd Amendment affirms a right. Get over yourself.

The point is that if the shooter did not not have access to a gun, the two innocent young Marines would be alive.
There are too many guns in America and too easy to obtain. The two dead Marines were killed by a gun that was too easy to get. No gun, no dead Marines
In 2012 more than 30,000 Americans were killed by guns.
And over half were suicides.
But over 1 million defensive gun uses also took place in 2012.
But I'm sure that doesn't matter to you.

21st amendment changed the 18th, Duh!
That's correct. The 18th Amendment was a restriction of rights and liberties and it took 14 years of criminal activity as a result of the amendment to prive what a mistake it was. Why? The Amendment process was designed to expand the rights and liberties of the citizenry, not curtail it. Yet that's what the 18th Amendment did.
KuroHouou wrote:
That's why they made the constitution the way they did, so it can be changed with the times.
That's correct. It EXPANDED the rights and liberties of Blacks, Women, the States, the Citizenry at large (poll taxes) an gave 18 year olds the right to vote.

Now you want to make the same mistake that the 18th did.
KuroHouou wrote:
Just like the 2nd amendment is out dated, it needs to be rescinded as well.
How is it outdated? Be specific.
KuroHouou wrote:
Just because its an old law doesn't make it a good or relevant one anymore.
It's not an old law. It's a Constitutionally protected right. Civics and American History are clearly not your strong suits.

Exactly why they need to remove all guns in general.
So according to you, if a person misues a contrivance, it should be removed. Will you be turning in all o fthe knives you have at home? Your automobile?
KuroHouou wrote:
The law can say no guns allowed in an area, but with how easy it is to get access to them it doesn't matter.
Wrong. It was someone with a min to wreak havoc that did it. You can't even see (or refuse to admit) that criminals don't obey laws.
And yet you believe they would comply with a gun ban. Insanity.
KuroHouou wrote:
The fact is its to easy to get a gun.
How so? Be specific.
KuroHouou wrote:
And just having background checks won't help.
Really? That's not what they're saying in Washington, DC.
KuroHouou wrote:
They need to be taken off the streets and no one should have access to them!
So you support rapists by disarming their intended victims. Interesting.
How long have you been a fan of criminal enabling/vicitim disarmament policies?

Right. Because you know the criminals will be the first to hand in their guns.

Which serves no purpose when a criminal breaks into their home or a rapist decides to prey on another woman.

KuroHouou wrote:

Are you really this stupid????? Why wouldn't someone at the school be able to defend the children? Thanks to you and your ilk, so called "Gun Free Zones" are killing fields because the criminals know there will be no one there to stop them. That is thanks to you!

No, you simply can't refute the facts that guns save more lives than are used to kill. You have more empathy for criminals than law-abiding gun owners.

Law is crazy. We will see him in the headlines one day when he kills someone with his gun. This is the kind of person that should not have a gun. Take his guns away before he kills.

Pat was an accomplice to the shooter at Sandy Hook. Pat danced in the blood of the victims slathering the blood all over himself.
Pat is always demanding that people should not have a gun. That's how Pat and his ilk are able then to prey on the unarmed people.
Pat is giddy when people are made victims.

I'm sorry Law, but I only found one link to any factual data in all of your posts, and that was data from 1993, and on top of that the source was a Gun Advocate site. Most of what you said seemed to be just snide comments and laughing. Not any information about how to better reduce the number of deaths by guns. I feel sorry for you in that all you can think of is to flash the 2nd amendment and say that's all that matters, without any in depth research or knowledge into the subject matter. And because of that I feel sorry for anyone who takes you seriously.
