i am a little iffy on this situation myself i mean it says in our constitution "though shoud have the right to bare arms" which is fine you should be able to protect yourself i mean thats why people carry around pocket knives right but if i were to see sombody ( who is not a hunter) carrying around a gun i would think WOW! this guy/girl might try to kill me, i should be careful.

Why would you feel that way? Do you feel the same way when you see a law enforcement officer carrying around a gun?

If you are a scum sucking criminal watching me that close then you get the idea I WILL shoot you if you attempt to attack me. Law abiding citizens don't care if you know they have a gun. The criminals are the ones you will not know about until it is too late.

I'll make a deal with Christie and all his leberal barbarians. you provide me and each member of my family with a personal officer 24/7 and i will give up all my gun rights. Until then, stay away from my rights. S court has ruled that the police cannot be held liable for the safety of anyone. Therefore, it is the thought of Christie and his goons that i submit to criminals who couldnt give a darn of your stupid "one gun a month" or the denial of our right to carry.

incredible, this is the state of bend over and pray.

legal law abiding citizens should have the right to carry if they choose. that is the second amendment right. It has been proven that criminal activities will drop approx. 50% the first year.

Where's the proof? There is proof the other way. Look at all the other developed nations that have strict gun laws. Japan under 100 murders by guns each year. Similar results in canada australia etc. I would like to see your proof that more guns equals more safety. Maybe you would like it if your kids are armed in school too.

And yet Japan's suicide rate is higher than the US.
How about you fund another country with the same socioeconomic dynamics as the US and we'll start to amke comparisons.

Lott's book covered that. Maybe you prefer to see more kids massacred in school too.

Why would anyone support such a ban unless he were a sheep masquerading as a man. The second amendment was written for the people, which comprise any necessary militia in the future, to be able to take the necessary action against an oppressive government. It was not written to protect deer hunters, duck hunters, or turkey shooters, although it does turn out to protect their interests also. A police state is an oppressive government, and nothing exemplifies such a state better than New Jersey, since there is a virtual handgun ban here.

On one had if you ban handguns, criminals will get their hands on guns one way or another that'll leave people defenseless. But if everyone carries a gun, people who go crazy can start shooting random people like they do already.

So I guess both these options aren't fool proof. What they can do is, do strict background checks and take classes. But even then it won't deter people from shooting each other. So I guess there's no one single solution. There are steps government can take but nothing is going to stop stupid people.

Background checks are already the law.
What would classes do?

Really? What has the government already done??? Plenty. And it didn't amount to squat. Yet you want them to do more?????
