Hell no. Guns don't kill people, people kill people. We already have laws in place which prohibit or make illegal the carrying or owning of handguns by felons, those convicted of misdemeanor of high and aggravated nature, etc. Ban handguns and only the THUGS would be having them as the law abiding citizens would not. This will only compound the problem.

I have a handgun that I carry. I have a permit to do so and am trained on how to use it. The issue is with the THUGS that illegally carry. These folks pose the greatest danger because of their intentions. Let one of them pull a knife on me or my wife or try to rob me. They will end up DRT.

I am a 32 year old married mom of two. I spend a lot of time in the car, and plenty of time alone at home. My .38 goes with me everywhere. It was my Valentine's Day present 5 years ago.

I had always been anti-gun... that is until I woke up one beautiful morning with my newborn daughter. As I put her on the changing table in front of the window, I noticed several pry marks on the screen. Upon inspection, there were footprints in the mud surrounding the house, and several other windows had pry marks as well. That's all it took.

The hubby and I went the next day, settled on the .38 as it what was I was most comfortable with. I'm a proud registered owner, and have my license to carry. The thought of someone entering MY home, with MY children, and invading MY privacy changed my mind completely.

BTW, I had 5 cameras installed around the perimeter of the house after the "pry mark" incident. I left an old junk bike outside of the carport, and the next MORNING just after 8am, it was stolen. The cops caught the guy, over a MONTH later, riding the bike down Kings Hwy (and it was STILL hot pink!). He was taken to Clayton Co. for an outstanding warrant for drug charges. I had several more items stolen from our property. Within a year, we'd moved.

Steer clear of Yeager Rd. Nothing but trash wandering up and down the street, all hours of the night. I'd sit on my porch rather late at night, with the lights off and just watch. Tell me, what business does a group of 3+ black males in dark clothing, have walking up and down the street, side streets, and even circling houses? Exactly, scoping it out.

I carry a firearm most every where I go and my plan is to NEVER have to use it. What many people who are against handguns do not realize, is the tremendous responsibility that goes with using one. I could go to jail and lose my permit if I display my handgun without just cause. I am totally responsible for the bullet which leaves my handgun regardless of the situation. If you are uncomfortable with handguns and the responsibility, fine, don't buy or carry one. On the other hand, I am, and I do not appreciate any attempt to prevent me from exercising my constitutional rights because of their fear.

I hope to never be in that situation. However, if they do, I cannot say for sure what I would do at this point. You must be prepared and observe your surrounding, always. I am not the type of person who walks hap-hazzardly around without regard to what is going on around me. If I am ever in that situation (and I hope I am not) I will deal with it then. At the end of the day, my goal is or me and my family to go home alive, period.
You can't be prepared for every scenario, but not being prepared for anything = victim.

I keep a 357 with me at all times. I want a fighting chance to stay alive. I know how to use it and am not affraid to use it. I also carry a semi automatic in my purse. I don't want to ever have to use them but, if it came down to me or them, well, I would have to give it one heck of a try.

Simply said, When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. Why give the lowlife scum an upper hand?
