It makes absolutely no sense. All the law abiding citizens will turn theirs in but the criminals will not. It could take decades to get even a fraction of the handguns possessed by criminals and lawbreakers out of circulation.
Disarm the honest man to stop crime, dumb idea

the need for home and personal protection. There are just too many lowlifes living among us most on drugs looking to cause one serious harm.

Guns don’t kill people; People kill people just like pencils don’t spell words wrong people spell words wrong. Without guns the honest person can’t defend them self’s agent’s criminals. Criminals will never give their guns up and that leaves the honest people defenseless. This country was founded on God guns and the constitution. Do I need to say any more?

Knowing the cops and criminals were the only ones with handguns is a scary thought. No matter what the law says, they can pry mine from my cold dead hands.

Look at history. In the late 1930's the german government seized all of the privately owned weapons. This action prevented an effective resistance to the attrocities committed by the NAZI regime.

We will never be able to stop cetain insane individuals from misusing weapons. Assault weapons are the most important tool that the common man has to keep our own government in check. Forget outside terrorists even though they do pose a threat, We don't want a return to the English King and Queen era. A few would look down on the masses from their castle towers and laugh at them while they starved to death.

Good to see a shutout here on this issue in Columbus. This debate shouldn't even be on the table.

President Obama is the *take away* president:
he takes away our money, jobs, economy and is working on taking away our guns.
Seems like the democrats have become the party of "take"

What I like about Obama is the way his mindless followers think he can do no wrong, it funny to see people with absolutely no principles or see them compromise them over Obama.
We are officially a politically correct nation, maybe in a few days the SCOTUS will officially declare there is nothing immoral about homosexuality.
Our government now defines morality instead of our faith in God and his revealed word.
