We will need them when the Democrats send in the blue helmets to take us to the re education camp! LOL, we really need them for defense against intruders who DO have weapons!

Did we not just see this very question unfold in the Supreme Court when Chicago's draconian gun bans were ruled unconstitutional? Sorry, but according to the law of the land the Second Amendment trumps any local ban on private firearm ownership.

Are you serious....citizens need to arm themselves from the thug mentality that seems to run over every law-abiding citizen. Wait Mr. Thug Man I need to call 911 on my cell before you beat me!! And hope the police get there to protect and serve. Not a chance!!

Criminals will always have them so it's foolish to disarm law abiding citizens and give all the tactical advantages to the bad guys. Criminals in prison have been interviewed and asked what they were most afraid of when engaging in violent criminal acts. It wasn't the police they were most afraid of. It was ARMED VICTIMS. I have been spared being the victim of violent crimes three times because I was carrying a concealed gun. The bleeding heart liberals who want to take that right away from me certainly weren't there to help me in those situations. I was own my own, and only escaped because of my constitutional right to bear arms.

A ban on handguns puts law abiding persons at risk. It would empower and embolden criminals.

Ask someone living in the UK how much strict gun control works for them. Gun crime is at an all time high there. With not even police having a firearm for the most part anyone with a gun pretty much can do as they wish.

Remember that our rights under the 2A are not just to protect us from criminals but from a tyrannical government as well. How can anyone dispute this as reality? And this being the case how can the American citizens defend ourselves not only from criminals but possible from a tyrannical government? WE only have to look to the founding fathers that wrote the Constitution. Check out some other documents, letters, and quotes. It's often read that they would not see tyranny in this country again. From anyone...Even our government.

I'm not calling for revolution. I'm just saying that this was the reasons to state the rights we have. We have them to protect ourselves on every side. From every enemy of the people foreign and domestic. It's why we do not pledge ourselves to the President but to the Constitution. Because that is the real power of this land. and the people are the employers, not servants to the state.

If you do not wish to be around firearms that's fine. That's your right as an American. But it's not right to take away rights endowed on us by our creator and explained in the Bill of Rights.

I can't afford to buy a gun. Honest people should have a gun. I believe that police should shoot and question later.if order to stop. crime people steal guns they don't go to training or pay a fee to be legal they get a gun with the intendtion of shooting somebody .I a honest hard working curently unemployed for over 2 years highly trained
technician can not afford to own a gun because I sold them to pay rent and buy food want to retain my option to buy an own a handgun at some future day would have it to defend myself and not have to shoot someone unless they really wanted me too.

because I would give them the option to not bother me and go away. A saying if you decide to kick a sleeping dog be ready to run.

Why would any one support this? It will only be an assurance to criminals that the law abiding will be disarmed.

It is absolutely foolish to take handguns away from law abiding citizens. The criminals disregard the law in general. A ban would not stop a criminal from possessing a handgun. The police are already spread too thin when it comes to fighting real crime.

The laws of this country are so screwed up and perverted, as is our court system that they can no longer protect honest citizens. The police don't seem to give a fat rat's ass about the honest citizens of this country. They only show up afterward to put tape around the cold corpses. Hand guns give God fearing, working, tax paying American a fighting chance. NRA all the way.
