voilent crime is down everywhere there is conceal carry permits, there is no reason for the majority to suffer for the few incidences that have occured, and lastly criminals by definition do not obey laws, gun laws only effect law abiding people thus making them unarmed victims for the criminals. Every country that gave up their guns has seen a rise in violent crime!

Rather be a victim of a violent crime than a gun and be killed, if I had to choose.

I think guns are used as tools of murder in too many situations. Remove the tool and limit the damage. Restrict the ownership of the tool and restrict the illegal action. One would not give a screwdriver to a baby, why are we giving children and inexperienced tools of destruction?

Every country that gave up their guns has seen a rise in violent crime! Seriously! Check out a real and accurate report of crime. It is not down anywhere. Crimes committed by certain weapons are down in areas where they are banned. If weapons are made harder to obtain legally or illegally then crime will diminish. Accidents involving guns with children diminish in areas where there is better gun control.

I don't know where you get your stats, but what you have said is incorrect. The States and Cities that have begun issuing concealed carry permits have seen a marked reduction in crime according to the FBI. Banning a firearm does not disarm the individual that possesses it. Law abiding citizen's who by their very nature abide by the laws, will reluctantly turn them in or dispose of them. Criminals by their very nature do not abide by the law, do not turn theirs in, and realistically, the vast majority of them have already been convicted of a felony making their mere possession of a firearm illegal. Many studies have shown that career criminals, even those on probation, are not likely to obey the prohibition in their release papers of owning, carrying, and the use of, firearms.

A good example is if concealed handgun licensees are allowed to carry guns, in a situation where a gunman is in a group of people and everyone has a gun how do the police know who to stop and who is being a "good citizen?" It only adds to the frustration of the law to decipher who is the danger and who is not a danger. I do not want to be in a crowd of people and have the majority carrying guns. I want my children protected and myself. I do not want to worry about some Barney Fife with Hitler syndrome proving their gun is as big as the next guys. As for women, my mom is a prime example of why not to carry a gun. She does not pay attention to her surroundings and would just give the criminal a chance to get her gun. Yet she feels she should have the right to carry a gun. But her "right" also gives more guns for criminals to access. Stupid gun owners are the detriment to gun control.

Ridge, I will post the survey sites that provide the information. Where there is a survey result for one thing there is also an opposing site supporting the opposite view. Have you not learned by now in life that situations are manipulated by those who know how to control? All surveys are done by control groups with a sample population. Survey questions are picked by how the surveyer wants the outcome to be.

LETS SAY THAT WE'RE IN A GROUP AND EACH OF US IS UNARMED. A PERSON (MAN OR WOMAN) WITH A GUN WALKS UP TO US AND SAYS THEY WILL SHOOT EACH OF US IF WE DON'T GIVE THEM WHAT THEY WANT, SO WE DO AS THEY SAY, AND AT LEAST ONE OF US ENDS UP SHOT ANYWAY. NOW LETS SAY WE ARE IN A GROUP AND EACH OF US HAS A FIREARM AND KNOW HOW TO USE IT IN A RESPONSIBLE AND APPROPRIATE MANNER. WE REVERSE THE STATUS QUO ON THE ASSAILANT AND HE/SHE RUNS. WE THEN CALL THE POLICE AND GIVE AN ACCURATE DESCRIPTION TO THE POLICE WHO THEN FIND, ARREST, AND CHARGE THE WOMAN/MAN BEFORE THEY CAN COMMIT FURTHER VIOLENT ACTS OF CRIME AGAINST OTHERS. I WOULD LIKE TO POINT OUT THAT IN THE FIRST SCENARIO ON OF US IS SHOT (DEPENDING ON WHERE, IS DEAD) AND THE CRIMINAL GETS AWAY AND CONTINUES ON TO DESTROY SOCIETY. IN THE SECOND SCENARIO NO ONE IS INJURED AND THE BAD GUY LOSES; SOCIETY IS ONCE AGAIN SAFE FOR THE TIME BEING. WHICH DO YOU CHOOSE??
