He isn't a politician. He's the best candidate.

Ron is the only candidate that offers real solutions to the main underlying problems we face. He is not afraid to answer straight-forward or tackle any topic (no matter how taboo).

First of all, there is a BIG difference between just "doing away with" and phasing out. Do you honestly believe social security will be around for long anyway? Yes, I want Paul to be President so I can OPT OUT of social security. Let me keep my money. I'll do better with it than the government has. Ron will not simply throw people out in the cold. Please get your facts straight.:)

Also, I would appreciate it if you actually did a little research before you started throwing out unsubstantiated claims about my President. I shouldn't have to tell you to take what people say at face value. It is easy to skew facts to put fear in the hearts of voters. Look things up for yourself. That is what I did, and is why I support Dr. Paul.

I'm taking what he said at face value , but you didn't answer the question. Are you prepared to support your older relatives? or the ones disabled? If the Social Security agency id "phased out" who is going to support those people? My parents paid in to SS from day one. Now you want them to have no income . How much work is a 80 year old in a wheel chair going to get.

You say that because I have a brain and can use it. The only thing I have seen you do is call names and belittle people. Can you comment on the thread? I doubt it.I have an opinion and I will voice it.I respect every ones right to disagree.

Dr Paul will phase it out/ make it optional. I believe he recently said social security was a contract we made with the people who have been paying in. He said the people currently and soon to be on social security will be taken care of and the "contract" honored. Younger people will have options. I for one TOTALLY agree with Amy, let me keep my money and I will do better than the government will. 14 trillion in debt and counting....this plan seems like a no-brainer to address the ever expanding debt crisis we face.

Have you found out how much you will have to have saved to retire? I went to a seminar on this. I have to go back to school and get another degree to make enough money to save half of what I will need to retire at age 70. Its scary. But with this countries healthcare, we probably won't live long enough for it to matter

I have an idea. Instead of cut SS and Military pay. Why not stop supporting other countries? Stop sending money to other countries use it to pay off our debts.

I have been reading this thread daily. I see questions asked that aren't answered. Can any one tell me how much a person would need to have saved to retire with out SS. Knowing we have paid in most of our lives its scary how little help we will actually get. I have to help my mom with every thing and she draws Ss. I get a week what she gets for a month. And Im semi retired. Was that too bold for you truth?
