Marge, How do you scheme to run for President ?????? Do you have secret meetings, in secret places, with secret people or do you meet at Mc Donalds, order up a couple of Double Cheeses with a side of French Fries and a Large Black Coffee? Maybe meet in back seats of Sleazy Limos,. I don't know, sure sounds exciting all this scheming going on.

Explain Penn Hills School District hosing. Should be interesting or was that part of another scheme with secret conotations?

Hey Rich, Good man but will not last long after S.C. Not rotten enough for the long run.

The guy has wanted to be president since he served in the senate. No doubt the scheming was just as you described. Somebody's backing him, and I don't suppose you know who it is, do you?

While he was in the senate, he moved to DC. He owned a house in Penn Hills, but didn't live in it, never really did. While in DC, he enrolled his kids in a cyber school and charged the Penn Hills School District for the tuition. So the residents of Penn Hills, through their tax dollars, subsidized this private education.

Marjie, I find that the fact that Rick S would want to be President of the USA is commendable. Every "Natural Born Citizen" of the U.S. with a legitimate "birth Cert" has at one time or another has probably thought about it. What do you think Chuckie C.? Ever think about it. He just did not say "I want to POTUS" and there he is..........He started at the bottom and worked his way up. Elected to Congress in 1994, Senate 1998, and lost his Senate seat to Casey in 2008.......... Prior to running he worked on John Heinz's campaigns and other Repubs from Western PA. Thats a credable career...... As to the "who" in who is backing him, I think it is George Soros.........

I think you need to research how the Town of Penn Hills was obligated to pay for his Childrens Educated. Real quick I will give it to you.
He owns a home in Penn Hills and is a Tax Payer. As a tax payer the town of Penn Hills is obligated to pay for his childrens education.
Every town collects School Taxes based on what it costs to educate the children of Penn Hills. If ANY Student elects to attend a "Charter School" or a "private School" or any school in another town, Penn Hills must pay the cost of that student. The cost is predicated on what it would have cost the student to be educated in the Penn Hills System....... The cost is based on the number of Students, divided into the total amount of Taxes Levied and WALLLLLLLAAAAAA, that is the amount sent to Rick S school of choice for his childrens education........He only has 8 children..

I don't think that he was the only Tax Payer of Penn Hills electing the right to school of choice.

Two comments. We in PA do not reimburse for any "private" school. We reimburse for charter schools, cyber schools and for schools outside the district that give special education, such as the School for Blind Children. Catholic schools do not get subsidized, nor do schools such as Shadyside Academy.

Secondly, the only reason Santorum was able to get away with what he did was the the statute of limitations ran out before his actions were discovered (by some concerned taxpayers in the district.) If your reasoning regarding being a taxpayer in a district entitled a person to reimbursement, then anyone who owns a second home in another district could claim reimbursement from either or perhaps both districts. Not the way it works. What entitles a person to reimbursement is residency. Santorum was wrong, and perhaps this was one of the reasons he lost his senate seat.

Marjie,
In your post #9 you said he moved to WDC and enrolled his kids in a "CYBER SCHOOL".
In your above post you say that the school district reimburses for charter schools, "CYBER SCHOOL", and schools outside the district......What did he do illegal?

In your post #9 you say he bought a home in Penn Hills and never lived in it, hardly lived in it. He must have been registered to vote in Penn Hills and paid property TAXES on the house that he hardly lived in or was that never lived in ?

You guys in Penn Hills will have to be more on top of where your tax dollars are being spent.
Penn Hills......pretty ritzie, well to do neighborhood of Pittsburgh. I hope ya all are not taken to much advantage of those poor distressed OWS protestes.... Do the honorable thing, take a couple of them in and get them off the street,. You know a good hot meal would be nice.

What he did that was illegal was that neither he nor his children resided in the district, yet they charged the district. An occasional visit to a property doesn't constitute residence.

Penn Hills a ritzy neighborhood of Pittsburgh? First of all, it is not part of the City of Pittsburgh. Second of all, Penn Hills ain't hardly ritzy - never was, and certainly isn't now.

You'r right Margie. I happend to live in Penn Hills when ol Ricky had a house there. Neighbors complained about the poor shape his house was in. It made the local papers. I remember that his family members converged on the house, washed windows, cut grass etc.
People were upset too when it was found out that thousands of Penn Hills dollars was being spent to educate his kids while his family was living somewhere in the DC area.
The following election moved him out of Pa. politics by 17 points. That's a lot for an incumbent.
