If two people are in love they shiould be allowed to marry.
The religious folks say two hetro's living together without marrage is a sin, so why would they deny it to gays and lesbians?

The only basis we have in opposing gay marriage is the misinformed "god hates homosexuals" mindset gripping the majority of our country. Despite the fact that these religious folk are misinterpreting their own allegedly "loving and tolerant" God, faith still has no basis in government, and this fundamental right shouldn't be left at the discretion of religious voters who think they can control the lives of people they neither know nor understand. We used to think marrying outside of our religion or race should be outlawed; gay marriage is simply the next intellectual obstacle we as a country need to overcome in the fight for equality.

What seems ridiculous to me, is that, as a minor of today's society is that we have polls that exsist like this. Who cares of it's woman/woman, man/man, woman/man. If God is said to be love, then why are you preaching against that. Do you think before he was crucified he wanted to make it clear that love was only between a man and a woman? We're all just afraid of what is said to be the unusual because deep down we want some sense of normality, we want to feel accepted to what has been set as a precedent; man/woman. There is no special place in heaven for you, if you are 'straight', every person is born the same, and every person dies that same; "Free." So you're neighbor might bake the best cakes, and tend a perfect garden but if she feels a love for a woman you must neglect her, and swear she is unnatural, and in need of the holy lord to guide her onto the right path. No, I am not "gay" or same-sex interested and that is my own decision. Do I have friends who are interested in the same sex? Indeed I do. But it doesn't change anything about my opinion of them, and the status of our friendship. It's sad to see how manipulated we've all become by the established moral code we have interpreted out of the Bible. I'm not saying you should support, I'm saying you should take a moment and look into their shoes. These people were born in a hospital just like you, have brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers, family, friends, favorite meals, movies, cars, shows etc. And because of their sexual preference, you choose to single them out of society and keep them from ever feeling the joy you may feel when you are with your partner. Maybe I'm not making sense, or being just plain silly but what I would like to say is that I attend a high school, and at my high school - from what I've seen - it's as if not one if not only a small portion is against same-sex couples. As a student I look at all of these elders of mine, being quick to judge and it's because this is out of the norm for you, which is why I hope you respect my opinion as much as I yours.

Divorce does more to hurt the sanctity of marriage than any other two loving people who want to express their love and have the same rights as everybody else.

My mom taught me that every one deserves love and respect, and to treat people the way I would want to be treated. That's something I still live by. Why deny two people the finality of love just because of their gender? Shouldn't every one deserve the right to love who they deem appropriate? Is gender really that different from race or ethnicity? Would you look down on me if I, a white woman, decided to marry an African American man? How can you deny the love people feel for someone else? Who are you to say that the love I feel for someone is wrong based on gender alone? There are some things in the universe that you can't explain, and maybe some people don't believe in destiny, but I do. I believe everything happens for a reason, good or bad, and I believe certain people were made for certain people and gender doesn't matter. It's what you feel in your soul, in your blood and bones.

I don't understand why we are still arguing about this issue. We are a free country, and an accepting country. We accept all religions and everyone for their heritage, why not for who they choose to love and marry?

There's already enough hate in the world. There's absolutely no reason to add more to hate...by hating on love of all things. It's totally a ridiculous thought process to me to hate such a thing.

If two people love each other who are you to say they can't get married? No one has a problem with a celebrity getting married and not even having it last a year, but committed relationships between the same genders, now that's a problem. If god had a problem with that's between the couple and god, not your preachy self.

Love is not something that can be restricted by boundaries. Love is one of the few things in this world that can be felt but not physically shown. Love is way more powerful than any of the ignorance people are spewing these days and I believe that should stand for something. I will not let my voice go unheard and I will not let myself be oppressed and teased because some ignorant neanderthal says it was "Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve". Procreation doesn't revolve around love and God made Adam and Eve to procreate. It never said anywhere that the two were in love.
