Constitutionally and morally and religiously I feel marriage should be between a man and a woman for the procreation of the species of mankind.

constitutionally, we all are entitled to happiness. religion should have nothing to do with how we write laws. what ever happened to separation of church and state.. your town may not stand for it but in the end the constitution demands the separation of church and state. and marriage is now a legally binding contract that u have to go thru the proper channels to achieve legally, and church shouldn't have a say in our laws. before anyone starts spouting what the bible says about sodam and ghommora, the fact is, the reasons god destroyed the city is because they were sinners, not just because they were gay. there were no believers other than lot and his family. yes the bible does say that being gay is an abomination, but god loves all his children. and will forgive them. god forgives all sin except blasphemy against the holy ghost. furthermore there is no reason not to allow gay marriage. how does it affect you, if u r not gay? and if u dont like gay marriage dont have gay friends. live and let live. besides does it matter as long as they love eachother?

so u would rather the unwanted children to be in the foster system where they are moved from place to place? where some of the foster parents are just in it for the money, and couldnt give a damn about those kids? there arent enough straight ppl who want to adopt, because they can have there own kids, and if gays were allowed to adopt then there would be more available foster homes, instead of putting the kids they cant find homes for in an institution. when i was in a mental hospital for being suicidal, most of the kids in there were there because they couldnt find a home for them.. furthermore, transsexuals are that way because there is a part of the brain that is different in males and females that identifies your gender, in transsexuals, this part of the brain is opposite of the outside "plumbing"... and learn how to spell and use punctuation.. idc about capitalization i just wanna be able to understand what u are trying to say

As a pure legal issue, and not a moral one same sex marriage should simply be allowed. There is truly no legal room to say otherwise, unless Homosexuality is seen as a mental illness or a deviant activity. It is very clearly considered not to be by our government. Therefore denying the normal right to choose who to marry to these "normal citizens" is just not reasonable.

So called Christians follow the opposite of Christ's example when they attack others because of their sin. Jesus said, "Let he that is without sin cast the first stone." In fact the only persons and issues that He violently opposed where those "religious people" that used religion to belittle or cheat others. You can see that when He accused the Pharisees of being white washed tombs, and when he used a whip to clean out the money changers in the temple. In every other case when confronted with sin He gave love, forgiveness, and understanding. In fact he said that there was one clear outward sign that the world would see and know who His disciples were. He said, "The world will know you are my disciples if you love one another." It is very clear He did not mean just the people you wanted to love, but everyone. Your perceived "enemies" among them.

Even if you believe to the very core of your being that Homosexuality is a sin against God, it does not give you the right to both call yourself a Christian and stop treating that person with love. You can choose one or the other but not both.
A "Christian" that refers to another human being as a "dirty faggot" is the opposite of Christ. There is a word for that type of person, but it is not Christian. It is antichrist.

Don't be an antichrist.

churches, I wouldn't be to sure of that. I'm sure you are talking about our local churches, but I'm sure there are churches that do already. Times are changing. My opinion for the worst. Pedophilia is consider a mental disorder and a pedophile can be label an outcast.

In my life time Homosexuality was consider a mental disorder and a queer was labeled an outcast. Only mans laws and opinions has change.

So pedophiles, hang in there, there is still hope for you guys.

Well, I believe that everyone has a choice who they want to be with and live their life with. I may not agree with it, but who am I to judge them? The only one who has the right to judge is God. I have never been around a gay person, but if that is the life they choose..who am I to tell them any different??

I am not saying the bible supports gay marriage. I am saying:

1. That as a legal issue there is no ground to support it no matter what you may feel in your heart is wrong. We will not as a country return to a place where we define homosexuality as an illness. Therefore laws that forbid marriage for homosexuals will not ultimately stand.

2. The hate speech in Jesus name is wrong and ungodly. And clearly the Bible shows that God is far more angered when His people hate in his name, then when the fallen sin. God does not ask you to say "same sex marriage is okay", but he does not give room for you to attack others in hate either.

P.S. Yes there are churches and ministers that support gay marriage. We may not agree with their doctrine or theology but they do certainly exist.
