It is a matter of Constitutional equal treatment, as well as fundamental human rights.

Discrimination is discrimination! It is no different than if a couple were not allowed to marry because of their race or religion.

Why don't we go back to the Biblical system where you can buy someone's daughter regardless of what she thinks?
Or better yet let's do the Deut 22:28 principle, where if you rape someone, you have to buy the girl for marriage.
"If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, he shall pay the girl’s father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the girl, for he has violated her"
Yeah, this guy "God" had some real good ideas on marriage.

gays have the exact same rights as I do. It is illigal to discrimate baised on a miniority status. Homosexuality is a choice. they have chosen their life style. That does not give them a "miniority" status. Right is right and gays are wrong.

I"m not a Christian, but I find it funny when people take things out of their context to try and make their point. You left out WHY.. and to whom these laws were give to as they weren't given to Christians.

Why is it when people mention the Bible, they only quote the parts where it's judging others.
What happened to the major lessons of the Bible "New Testement"; compassion, love, understanding and not to judge people?
I would think there would be a lesson in the fact that Jesus did not discriminate. Some of the Apostle's were in professions or lived lives that were not according to the "Old Testement", yet those were the very people Jesus chose to spend his time with.
Remember-"Judge not, lest yea be judged".

As a gay man I'm not asking for SPECIAL rights. I'll settle for the same ones the rest of you have. Love is love. What is it really going to take? And...furthermore, I would say as a openly, out, gay CHRISTIAN man that God charges us to love each other. A marriage is one person who loves another person. Not ONLY one man and one woman. Tradition is fine. Equality allows everyone to feel and BE respected. Your words are hurtful and your actions hateful.

I just want to point out real quickly that it's not God. It's man in those cases who made those rule. I love God and therefore we have to all stop blaming him for what appears in the Bible as 'His rules.' Some of the passages are records and not of God. Often, God is blamed for things he had nothing to do with. Other times, he does set boundaries like any good Father who wants his kids to know the difference between what's good for them an what is leading to self destruction.

Just because it has been one way are you saying you can't possibly think outside that box? Consider broadening your circle of realism. Your scope seems very narrow and non-inclusive from where I sit.

Does that mean it never changes just because your parents did it? Well my parents were farmers too as was most of the USA. So why didn't you stay true to what the Bible said about all of us wielding a plow, raising our own food too. We're suppose to be doing that. I'll bet you've been shopping at your local super market since birth. Times change. Even God inspired a NEW Testament, new writers and new ideas. So should we. Love = Love.

Honestly, you sound like a legalistic person but at least you have what appears to be a valid reason. Though you may not truly realize I didn't chose to be gay no more then I chose to have blue eyes and blond hair. Did you have a choice? Of course not. It's simple science. Who would chose the lifestyle over and over and over if you don't like getting your feelings hurt or discriminated against. Seriously. Think about that for two minutes. Gay people are wonderful people who give back to the communities we live in, work in and enjoy.
